Fingers Crossed; Drift, Drift Go Away

As per @BigOnYa recommendation via a YouTube video I decided tonight is the best time to carry out the cleaning of my JoyCons.

2x cotton earbuds.
1x can of electronic contact cleaner.

Here is the video that @BigOnYa shared.

For those who wants a quick rundown.

1. Detach both JoyCons (of course).
2. Moisten up them buds with the cleaner.
3. Under the analog there is a rubber skirt, pull it up.
4. Clean the heck out of it, I go in circular motion.

The bud did turned slightly black in color, dust & dirt I guess? After that for extra measure cause I love being extra I sprayed on under the thumb surface then I rotate the stick in circular motion for 30 seconds as per the video.

Leave it to dry for 5 mins then I re-attached and gonna try out the analog tomorrow.

I will still purchase a HORI Split Pad Pro as @Silent_Gunner recommended cause that looks so comfortable to hold and I found a cute black/gold Pikachu edition, why not?

I love you all!

I doubt it's going to help you much considering how Joycons are built. The actual tracks are integrated into a small PCB underneath the mechanical part of the stick, most drifting occurs because they've been scratched or the brushes that touch them were bent. It's an inherent flaw of the design, no amount of dust removal will fix that. The HORI pad is your best bet if you're aiming at longevity and high endurance - as far as I know it uses traditional sticks with two rotary potentiometers, a far more robust setup.

To make drift go away you need to go

Up Up Up Down Down A A A X Y Up Down Left Right

That's the code to deactivate drift

@Foxi4 understood, will still grab the HSPP, I assumed you have one too, if so, how are you liking it?
