I wanted a Dingoo A320 ever since I first read about the product at GBATemp. I mean, the idea of a dedicated music/video player that had no need for conversion (thus freeing space for my DS flashcard and my jailbroken PSP, both which require specific video formats, anyways) was already attractive, yet one that also had tons of emulators, a TV-Out, a text reader, an audio recorder, and even a wireless radio just made things better.
However, the Gemei A330 got released. The fact that the system had better hardware (for example, did not had me worry about overheating) diverted my attention towards the Gemei, though there was one problem: Dingux has yet to be ported towards the Gemei. Considering how the Gemei is pretty much a Dingoo successor, I bought one (for about $100) in about March in the hopes that DIngux comes out before summer, a time where I usually go to the Dominican Republic for vacation.
That was not to be. The Gemei really did get me through the vacation, but DIngux never came. The problem was that the technician who was to port Dingux to the Gemei could barely do anything due to the company that made the Gemei being very unwilling to release technical micro-details about the Gemei, hence development had essentially stopped.
By about October, I decided to just buy a different console. I took a peek at the RedFuji GamePad (http://boards.dingoonity.org/other-game-systems/pspgba-clone!!!/) and the Ritmix RZX-50 (http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fa320.emulate.su%2Fritmix-rzx-50%2Fabout%2F&lp=ru_en&btnTrUrl=Translate). The latter eventually won due to its bigger screen (Recall that I intend to watch video and read text in my alternative system), more consistent buttons, actual availability (The GamePad was sold-out for quite a bit.), and actual Dingux support.
Eventually, the Ritmix came out, along with the SDK and a PSP emulator. A little more waiting had the system in stock (albeit in Russian).
...the price in US dollars?
That would be about $103.76 without shipping, aproximately the same price I paid for the Gemei.
Oh, dear...
I am still intent on buying the Ritmix, though I am now planning on selling my Gemei on ShopTemp and the Trading Forum, waiting until I actually get paid before I try to buy the Ritmix. I have no concrete plans, though; I am just philosophizing here.
