i get annoyed by...

LOVE VS. SEX: A teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he was waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her." Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God? Repost this as Love vs. Sex if you truly believe in God. PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what and if you stand up for him he will stand up for you. I bet 93% of the people that read this wont repost it.

the bolded part.

i don't have any hatred towards the story. in fact i like it. but i just don't like what's at the end.
it just happened that this is what i saw in facebook right now, but i also don't like "this or that will die if you don't repost this within XX hours or send it to # of people.

what's this called? chain messages?

Comments

Yes, it's called a chain message/letter and people are just really dumb and post these to their friends/co-workers/families/ect. because they believe in the actual text.

Some chain letters I've seen go like this: "If you don't post to 5 people within the next 10 minutes, you will be killed by ____ in your bedroom window."

Didn't got beef with the story meaning, but beef with the story itself. Irl it just doesn't work that way...

Yeah, chain letters are kinda annoying...

The most stupid chain letter I ever got was a poem about love.
You had to send it to 25 different people and them you had to press F6 and the name of your true love would appear.
Come on! How could that ever work?!!
I'm ashamed to have had such stupid childhood friends.

The most annoying thing is that those chain letters only used to appear in mail but now they even appear on facebook!

also....
"what annoying chain messages, f*** i'm sending this to some people to annoy them too."

hehe.

This made me smile.
:)

I got told by a telephone call from a random voice to check my email, which i did, seeing a message from an unknown sender directing me to a strange URL, which on visiting gave me the instructions to post a reply in this topic......else i would DIE in 13 minutes from a horrendous crockery mishap.

IMHO, if you truly believed in God, you would pray that these retards who use his name to pass along their propaganda [good or bad] would all get struck down by lightninglearn to STFU.

I hate chain letters from facebook, because they are usually long and the same crap over and over again.
Which is why i usually unsubscribe from the people who posts those crap.

*sigh* just another one of those life lessons for me to not take everything seriously even if it is a serious subject -.-" oh wells...

but on topic I didn't see anything wrong with the entire article.. I think that good people preach the word of God and those who don't have some catching up to to really. it can either be in words through scripture or action and words based on good morals imho.

@amptor, if it was only the article, w/o the bolded part, it's fine by me.
i've actually read this in a magazine before. and like i said, i like it very much.

but the bolded part at the end "i bet XX% of people won't repost this"
that get's to my nerves.
which is stupid. since
1. if more than XX% repost he, he lost at the bet and he was stupid for thinking that.
2. if people don't repost it, he was right but his goal to spread the story didn't happen
3. he can't even really tell if the message was passed on to a lot of people.
4. and in some cases those who don't repost it get's to be "evil"
5. how did the title become love vs. sex??

FB/Twitter/Youtube/Any account propaganda... I fucking hate it. "Vote Prop X for abortion", "Vote X For Gay Marriage", "Vote X For lower Taxes", "Vote X for tiddlywinks to skull fuck your face whilst digging his greasy hand into your pocket and steal your wallet". Seriously, one or two MAY be ok but if your account has become nothing but a propaganda spewing bot, you've got some issues and my hatred. I don't go online to see propaganda and ads, I go to get away from it. If I wanted propaganda and ads, I'd watch T.V.!
