Sooooo Boring ....

Man why is it so boring all the time oO

Even at this age where we already have PC's there is still no real entertainment ...

I have more and more games and videos and whatever, still its getting harder and harder to not die out of boredom :(

yesterday at least I was walkin trough town getting me new shoes which helped a little against the boredom but i can't go shopping everyday right ? and it was only "fun" cuz there was a friend with me, sadly most of my friends hardly ever leave their house ... (most of them do not even go to work -.-V)
i think except those guys that are allways drunken or violent/stuid/whatever there is hardly anyone socialising much any more. (even thaught i was totaly surprised seeing so many people yesterday in town oO) (i am one of those guys that hardly leave their hous as well)

now i even have 2 weeks off of work ...

what are u guys doing in times like this ?

There isn't a moron on this earth that is going to read one of your posts and be inspired to change their entire life "for the better."

Better being a completely opinionated ideal that you yourself believe.

You're more or less like a religion fanatic, except you don't peddle God. You're trying to force your opinion of what people should do with their lives down their throats and you think you're the savior of mankind for doing it. It's ignorant as hell and it's sad you think you're so vastly superior and righteous for doing it.

Ironically it's now quite entertaining.

Appearently not.

But, this is what I'm doing watching this thread.

We're indirectly curing his boredom.

Thus, it was on topic. :3

Again, all you do is throw out hyperbole in an attempt to belittle my posts, not providing any points of substance.

It's not about changing their entire life. It's about taking a step in the right direction. Pursue a trade or skill that you've always found interesting. Maybe pick up a programming manual, finally get to designing that desk you've always wanted, take some lessons on playing the guitar, orating, crafting, boating, cooking, whatever. Plant the seeds for something which could grow into a productive activity that you enjoy, or could possibly make a career out of.

In no way am I selling myself as some sort of life guru or zealot. These are just my opinions which I've chosen to share with those who may have less experience than myself. Nothing I've said is "absolute" or necessarily proven fact. How you could possibly conclude that I'm equivalent to a "religion fanatic" is beyond me, and I can only think you threw it in there to substantiate your flaming.

The OP said he was bored, and I voiced my thoughts on that. If you don't want discussion, don't want people to express their opinions to you, then don't visit a discussion forum.

oO about getting productiv ... i have a job and i actually work, no clue what you are doing with your time.

but like most people in the world i have weekends + days off
and you can't tell i am not learning or anything but really is a human live only there to study all the time ? think that would be really sad.

you might not be wrong urza but your opinion or at least how you tell other is way to overdone if you live like you want us to believe you wouldn't actually sit in front of your computer but would either read a book or do some work in the fresh air ...

lol...i thought we were still on topic...

we were discussing why OP was bored...

My opinion was that there are too many things pulling us in too many directions for it to be easy to settle on one for any amount of time... there's plenty to do, just nothing you WANT to do.

@Hells Malice
i was merely trying to interpret what Urza was saying with that post... as far as losing our technology, we don't know what could come from a nuclear holocaust and what would remain. we can assume that it would just be a "set-back" and we'd recover but we could also assume the opposite, couldn't we?

You realize that just because quite a few people spend most of their lives participating in your so called "fruitless recreation" doesn't mean they're just going to sit on their asses all day and do nothing, right?
There are LOTS of people pursuing their dreams every single day, and they don't need some overbearing jackass hounding over them on an internet forum to do it. I work and spend all of my free time watching anime, playing videogames, or doing other completely mindless things. But guess what, i'm still able and going to be going to college to pursue my dream job, and I didn't need your help to decide this! Just like everyone else on the internet.

I really don't care if you voice your opinions in the thread, but of course, don't be surprised if someone voices their opinion against yours. Especially when someone posts an innocent blog about being bored, and you immediately jump on "the world is fucked and all of humanity is hopeless because you're bored."
because frankly, that's what your post boiled down to.

Sorry, I think I got bored and trailed off a bit on that.

I suppose you're right. Technology is a gamble if you put it that way. But hell, risk vs reward makes things more interesting. I think most people would agree they'd risk using technology to make life easier, as opposed to not using it and having absolutely no risk of life ever getting worse for them. Ironically though, most of the things that could cause us to "lose" our technology, are all created by our technology. Brilliant.
I think i'm getting a little off the topic now though, lol.

When someone makes a thread stating that they're bored, it generally implies that they're inquiring on what they should do to solve said boredom. Responding with an answer is not being an "overbearing jackass."

No, what happened is that you decided to come in with your flame gear charged up, throwing in cheeky comments like "pretty sure someone in here has a huuuuge superiority complex" and "you look like a colossal dumbass." Suffice to say that makes me a little inclined to substantiate my own statements, which led into this whole discussion.

And by discussion I mean me trying to explain my views in a cordial way as you sling as much mud in my direction as you possibly can.

If your ego was any bigger, you could just crush me with it from where you sit. It's kind of sad that you're so dead set on your own ideals, that you'll just disregard when someone is making a perfectly valid point about you.

The aura of superiority that permeates and seeps out of your posts is, frankly, disgusting. It's actually difficult to read your posts, not because they actually transcend common intelligence, but because they try SO hard to sound intelligent when they really are just mindless, moronic, and empty.

All you really are doing is belittling what your own posts actually came off as, while throwing random insults in my direction as the substance of your counter arguments. Not to say I haven't resorted to insulting you, but really, some things genuinely need to be described in a certain way.

If i'm slinging mud at you, you've got your pants down and your hand in position to grab what you've been slinging at me this entire time.
Sorry for the PG imagery there, but I figured you were old and mature enough to handle it. You sure wish to act like you are anyways.

EDIT: anyways, lol. We're pretty much done here. We've resorted to debunking the posts ABOUT our debate. Frankly, that's boring. It's been fun, but before any mods have to forcibly shut us up, this'll be my last post (directed towards you) in this thread.

I'm going to have to say that urza isn't really being a jackass by saying that people should take up a hobby.

Honestly it seems like you were trying to attack urza's general personality, but that wasn't the right post to use as an example.

Hells Malice stop acting like a twat, yes Im talking to you because you are instigating personal attacks here.

Any more bickering between you and Urza, not just in this thread, but anywhere on the forum will be met with a swift and decisive response from me.

:tpi:

actually, from what i read. you both throw insults.
you're posting with hate hells malice. involving emotion and pride in a discussion does not help even if you have a valid point.
and urza, get down from that pedestal because what you see is a group's and not this one person's problem.

Watch the microwave show. Doodle, glitch the living hell out of games, poke something, stare at the wall, watch boondock saints, look into radiology. There's plenty to do but things don't turn themselves on.
Try looking into a new hobby or wanking.
this xD. unfortunately, when I was in my 4-year-long bored slump, the latter also became boring and felt more like a chore with little pay-off.
you're bored because there is too much to do and you can't decide where to start... should I read a book? play a game? I don't feel like it because there's something better I could be doing...i just don't know what that is...
^this. I was in a bored slump my ENTIRE high school life. 4 hellish years. now, I'm off to college and it's a whole new, fun experience :D
pretty much just work toward something in the long run, then kill the time inbetween by starting obscure jrpg's or watching all seasons of dexter and stuff like that. good luck!
