Just gonna say, there are no good PSP emulators. Trying to find one that works well is like trying to find a good DS emulator five years ago.

As for the decryption thing: PSP's decrypt games when they boot them. It's why later firmwares are required to constantly decode this encryption as it gets updated for the newest games. As of yet, I don't think there are any emulators that can decrypt, or at least none that can do it well and in a consistent manner.

Nathan I'm wondering on the Jpcsp site they showed them playing a bleach heat soul game wouldn't that be encrypted (It was a Japanese version )

If I'm not mistaken, the emulator I tried to use before just buying a PSP (no regrets there) said something about have to decrypt the games with a PSP first, but I'm unsure of how you would manage to take that game, decrypted, from the PSP to the PC, since the PSP only makes it a point to decrypt it when it plays the game.

Seriously though, if you want to play PSP games, buy a PSP.

check if the game is playable, half playable and so on...

if the game is in playable, check the thread, they should have instructions on how to make them playable

Funny how they got so many games working that I couldn't imagine trying to play even without an analog nub like the one on the PSP.

P3P would be okay, as most of the game is played through menus, and the dungeons don't require any extensive movement, nor do battles. A game like Ghost of Sparta though, I would need the analog nub. Ys 7 would also be hard without a 360 degree range of motion granted by the analog nub.
