Facebook Gone!

The only reason I hate it is that people keep telling me to get one no matter how many times I said no.

I was tempted to make one, but after my someone told me "At least I have a social life" because they're on fb, that was the last straw.

A lot of the stuff on Facebook is usually just drama and some trolling for me. I don't hate it, but it's not my favorite website.

Facebook is for some and not for others.

I had to close mine down years back. It made me emotionally sick/unstable/crisis each and every time I got on. I would get physically sick from the crap that went on. Its an entire plane of existence that creeps underneath real life, poisoning all it touches. I *loathe* Facebook. No...that's not strong enough. It breeds insensitivity in human beings. The days of intimacy are dead. Long live the internet and "social" media.
But then again, I'm a maladjusted sociopath, so I can't judge.

Only reason I'm for facebook is I would have lost contact with all of my friends from school after leaving without it.

Well, it's not just that, that person never leaves her cell phone. I mean never. And if anyone were to just touch it, she would freak out.

And in a way she was the one that made me not want to get a fb. At least other people just say 'You should get a facebook" instead of that kinda crap. Those people don't annoy me, it's her that does.

Facebook ranks up there with constant persistent texting as my two biggest hates in this life. Do people no longer have manners?

Which is why I don't like cell phones. I have one, but I don't hold on to it like a lifeline. She even took it with here while our we were having a family dinner. I mean really.

Why I use Facebook:

I've been able to get in touch with friends that moved away when I was only 7 or 8. You know how awesome that is? I mean, these people were my best friends that I lost contact with (you know, at that age, not a lot can be done), that I can now communicate with again without hassle.

School, school, school. Nothing like having classmates as friends to remind me of due dates and requirements.

I enjoy keeping up with my close friends and knowing what's happening with them right then and there. It's a very easy way for them to get in contact with me quickly, as I generally have a tab with Facebook open when I'm browsing around online.

Just plain fun to chat with people and share views. It helps me to get to know people I don't know very well and vice versa. I've found it to make our real life chats and such even easier to manage.

Not everybody may share these reasons, but not only am I able to use FB for its primary purposes; I can control who I communicate with through blocking and defriending. It can be a very controlled experience if you choose to make it that way.

Anybody saying that it breeds anti-social behaviors; do you happen to own and use a cellphone regularly for something such as texting? Honestly, texting 100+ times a day is just as bad as being on Facebook all the time. Nothing electronic is good for your social health. Hell, this place is awful for your social health, as is the internet in general.

Gotta agree with Nathan Drake, Facebook does have it uses.

I barely use it how a lot of people do, though. I don't post aimless status messages, nor post every day pictures. I leave a quirky remark or two in some joke statuses but that's mostly it.

I have used to to plan some small events and communicate with certain groups I'm affiliated with, because sometimes the only easy way to talk to a lot of people with people is to find something in common, in many cases, a Facebook account.

When I had facebook, all I got from about 90% of my 'friends' were stupid requests for causes or farmville/mafia wars/vampire-whatever game invites and crap. I didn't mind facebook at first, and then checking it became about the same as looking at my spam filter on a throw-away email account. And I didn't have any facebook friends I didn't know in real life, mainly from high school or college. I think I closed my account about a year ago, and I have to say, I don't miss it at all. I have a phone and email, hell even skype. If someone wants me to know something, they can use that.

Facebook is useful.

I can't believe how many times I've almost missed something important until someone reminded me on Facebook. Asking homework wouldn't be nearly as easy without it. I talk to friends on Facebook everyday. It's... fun.

Anyways, I loved Facebook even more due to The Social Network. After I found out that the maker was a huge ass that ruined his friend's lives and careers and wedged them out of the company and stole the idea from someone else, I was like My fuck, this guy's smart as hell.

Seriously? She's just trying to get attention. It pisses me off that she's just trying to do this and I had a friend who actually did it. I don't know her at all. I'm not going to actually kill her. I find it easier to just ignore her. Her mother tried the same thing, she just wants attention, and I'm done with people trying to say they're going to kill themselves on a daily basis so people will give them attention and say they feel sorry for them when I know people who have actually done it. You think I'm a bad person and should kill myself because I'm sick of her trying to get attention? Understand why I don't deal with that crap first.

Seriously? She's just trying to get attention. It pisses me off that she's just trying to do this and I had a friend who actually did it. I don't know her at all. I'm not going to actually kill her. I find it easier to just ignore her. Because in 99/100 cases, people don't avidly tell people they're going to kill themselves and then actually do it. They leave a note, or nothing at all and attempt it. Odd problem actually. Most people who will actually kill themselves likely get that far because they WONT talk to someone about it. Generally if someone threatens to kill themselves, they wont. They're attention seeking.

Two of my friends were like that. Never lead on anything, never talked about it if I asked if something was wrong. One friend I got told what happened from her brother, the second left me a "note" on MSN one night when I had already gone to bed. It's the kind of thing where you might notice something is wrong, but not realize how bad it is until you're at their funeral.

Facebook sucks, period.

My friend killed himself on my Aunt's birthday. He didn't say anything to anyone and his grandparents found him with a crossbow bolt in him. His parents abandoned him at his grandparents and his grandparents felt they had to take him in. I don't know how he set it up, but he killed himself with his crossbow. The ones who threaten it on a daily basis won't actually do it and her/our mother threatened it all the time, guess what, she's still alive and kicking. Most times people are just trying to get attention. Trust me, she's just doing it for attention. I've had friends do that before and guess what they're still alive and I just stopped caring.
