Grades for this 9 weeks.

Well, another grading period is coming to a end and here's my grades so far.

Connections 8 85.05 B-
Language Arts 8 84.50 B-
Mathematics 8 82.47 C+
Science 8 86.00 B
Social Studies 8 91.28 B+

Math needs to go up, though my parents grade standards only apply to C and below.

Comments

82.47 is a C and 91.28 is a B? That's weird. Or is it not out of 100? I guess every school works a little bit differently.

I just noticed how weird that is, but yeah, that's what my grades are.

Oh and Nathan I just sent your cable today. letting u know.

I don't know how school is from where you're from, but here in Quebec, getting 80% in math is having made absolutely no mistakes at all in anything.

Don't.really.care.

Thanks for letting me know.

In my school, grades work like this:

90% - 100% = A
80% - 89% = B
70% - 79% = C
60% - 69% = D
59% and below = F

I've managed to keep straight A's since seventh grade (when I started getting letter grades) to now. I've started getting really lax about getting things done though. By junior year, I've kind of run out of steam.

Not really, though I think I maybe a little.

I already hate the US education institution, but it seems your school is overly lame. How can an 82% be a "C"? What is an "F" at your school, like a 65%?

Jesus Christ, the grading system in this country is retarded.

64 and below to be exact.

Man, my dad would kill me if I got anything under an A. Seriously, though? 91 is a B+? Harsh school, man.

Well, best of luck to ya :D

I wonder if schools and colleges see the 82 or the C+ because most schools count an 82 as a B- including my own.
Do you live in Oregon or Louisiana? Because I know they use this scale.
Grade Percentage
A 93–100
B 87–92
C 75–86
D 69–74
E/F 0–69

In Canada (or at least Toronto), the grading system is as followed
A = 80% - 100%
B = 70% - 79%
C = 60% - 69%
D = 50% - 59%
F = 49% and below

Also, your school's grading system is fucked up. 91 shouldn't be a B.

Same for Manitoba. Entirely identical.

I live in Oregon and use the scale I put in my post on the first page. Our grades go in increments of 10%. You can't pick a grading system by state. It can differ by school district. There isn't really a state standard.

Edit: Why do your (Duskye) A- and B+ intersect for percentages?

I really have no idea. I copied the grading scale from my planner and that's exactly what it says.

You're grading system is screwed. I suggest vouching for a reform. Dump off the + and - as official parts of the grade and make it a straight letter system with percentages that make sense. I've seen some weird grading scales, but that one takes the prize for most unnecessary and weird structure.

How much more difficult are Canadian schools compared to American ones? I would be ACING school with no effort with this type of grading system.
