A little bit of Math homework

Please put down Pokemon Black & White for a brief second D:

Our professor just assigned us a homework assignment involving Stokes' Theorem and Gauss' Theorem. No math involved, however.

Basically, he wants us to research how these 2 are applied in real life situations mainly involved within Civil Engineering. Any help? If you don't know what Civil Engineering is, it's mainly involved in the construction of buildings, bridges, dams, towers, plants, etc. There's also several branches within Civil Engineering such as Topography and Structural Engineering.

If anyone knows of applications for those 2 theorems do lend a hand ;D

Well, that was certainly helpful.

I don't know about either of those theorems, but maybe places like the forum at xkcd (xkcd.com) and other places can help you. :)
