My review was on the Armor Lite Crystal Case in the "Hardware section". You can read it below or here.
Packaging:
The case came scratch free and was packaged in a blister cutting plastic, but a pair of scissors will do. The packaging consisted of one item, the case itself. The Armor Lite can be bought at quite a few stores. If not, you can also buy good alternatives like the Hori brand.
Installation:
The installation was quite easy. You may have to take off your wrist straps and other accessories before placing it on though. It might take a few tries as dust will most likely settle before you finally get a clean install. It is recommended that you install it after a hot shower like with the screen protectors. Before you install, you can add a few things in before you put it on/leave on, like a Hori Body protection for the outside of the top lid which I had already had on before, and a nice little print out/skin that you place in between the DS itself and the case. After installation, you can put back on your wrist straps and any other accessories if possible.
Functionality and build:
The case itself is quite strong. It is durable to scratches and will protect it from shock(falls). The case does add a bit of bulk, just about enough to make it as thick as a GBA original. The case is clear and does not disturb the inside of the DS when opened.
The way it was built can also relieve stress on the DS Lite's hinge which helps prevent the common cracking problem White DS Lites have. The case also helps while playing if you have the common problem of the DS Lite cutting into the palms of your hands. Weight is not at all an obstacle. It also allows access with holes to all controls and slots (Slot 1/2 slots, stylus, volume, power, headphone/microphone, recharging, wrist strap holes, and L & R buttons). A few problems with the Armor Lite is if you have a stylus attachment on the back/bottom, it will not fit.The Action Replay by Datel will also not fit if you are looking to cheat on your official game carts. Also, if you use a charger dock, it will not fit, and the dock will require a bit of adjustment.
Overall:
Overall, the case would be a recommended accessory for all DS Lite owners, especially for the Polar White owners. It protects it from standard shock and scratches, and can look quite good on a DS Lite. Seeing as the DS Lite does not have the same quality as the original DS, it is a must buy.
Tally:
+Protection from standard shock and scratches
+Looks great and you can customize the print out outs/skins for it (MMZ and Kirby FTW!)
+Helps relieve pain from palms from extended play
+No glossy back
+Helps prevent cracking of the hinge
+Has all of the holes available and at the right size for standard headphones
+Hardly adds weight
>Size of the case
>Blister Packaging, but came scratch free
>May take a few tries to attempt to remove the case
> Will keep DS open by a MM, but doesn't disturb sleep mode
-Requires modification of charger dock(As seen in the picture above)
-Will not allow Datel's Action Replay to fit
-May need occasional cleaning of dust, especially after rides in dusty cars
Score:
9/10
Those pictures were hard for me to take. Can't wait to try out the iTouch, though some people say it isn't too great(GUI). I didn't notice until now, but I also just had 400 posts a while ago! Yay...
