Retro Reviewers Needed

I miss doing shit for the forum such as Retro Reviews, so now that my Modding duties has come to an end I'll have time to bring it back.

This time as well as retro video games I have decided to add Movies & albums to the feature as well. Like before I would like to get the community involved so if you want to contribute send me a PM.

Requirements:
Video Games: Review any game from the very beginning up to the N64.
Music & Film: Any album or movie from whenever up to 2000.

Simple as that. How you review these is up to you, you can even do a negative review if you wish. I'd prefer if people maybe reviewed less famous games, albums or films but I'm ok with one or two. Negative reviews of famous stuff is fine by me, though be prepared to argue with people. :P

I'm intending to have this done by the beginning of March, I'll have a review of at least one of each myself.

Lets make this into a feature worthwhile, something to attract the new folks into and something we can discuss! :yay:

I figured I'd just post this here instead of sending you another PM. When do you want us to submit our first review(s) to you? Also, do you want us to tell you what we're reviewing before we do it?

I could write something up for SNES and PS1 era games, have a Lemmings on SNES review lined up for video (which due to the fact that my PC is shit I haven't gotten around to yet) which I could rewrite into a text review.

Yeah I should add Im going to do reviews for the Virtual Boy, because I am awesome like that.

I have five games for it so I will try and do them all in one review.

well I can review games, music and movies: NO! but still I can review games!

Well isn't this dandy? Didn't expect so many so soon, which pleases me as I can start with a big edition.

All reviews need to be in by lets say March 1st, then I should be able to put it all together by the 4th depending on how things are going at work. I would like to know via PM what people are reviewing so I can get various media together (if you don't want to find it yourself). I'll probably stick to the same format as before.

That'll scratch the obscure itch. Got Wario Land by any chance? Loved that version.

Any none gaming reviews anyone?

Here's a good question: How do you want the review?

Write the entire thing in a PM?

Write it in a word processor and attach it to the PM (if you can even do that)?

Make a screencap or some other video and send you the link?

Doing a handstand, juggling potatoes with my feet, and giving the review speaking backwards while in the middle of the highway, dodging traffic?

Unfortunately no, I have Mario Tennis, Galactic Pinball, Red Alarm, Telero Boxer and Vertical Force. I may make it a two part review, for this RGR and the next one as I dont want to hog too much of the thread up. I will see when I get to writing it how I want to structure it though.

bummer, I wanted to play in the highway :(

I'll send in my 2 cents, but I'm actually just a punk kid, so I can't appreciate the retro stuff as much as you guys. Still, I would do a few pre-2000 movies (I'll do the Matrix) at least and try some video games. Most of my reviews are just recent stuff, though.

Still, it's great to see you doing this. If there's one thing the site has been missing, it's pieces like this. It brought such easy flowing forum food that tasted great and didn't give you horrible gas the next day. And the site has really been needing that.

Well, I'll help as much as I can.

I recall wanting to review the the original Rayman (multiplatform). I never got to it. I'm pretty busy now, but I want to try to do it. Maybe i can find some spare time. It's an old fav of mine. Hope i can get it done.

I've always wanted to write one for your previous threads but I never had the motivation to, but with the 3 feet of snow, and the fact i have school off for a week, I'll try to find some time and write one. I may do one on a game that everyone knows, super metroid, or I may go a bit more obscure and review dragon view (snes), a game that I'm guessing very few people have heard of. If I have some more time I'll try to write one on an n64 game, either fzero, or the new tetris.

On a side note, I may write one for borderlands which I obviously won't be submitting to the retro review

Well it's not too late, I'm quite the constructive criticizer. Classic games are my specialty!

If it IS too late to pitch in, then, well, It's still nice to see this sort of thing.
