The path to PSP 2000

So since I bricked my uncle's PSP 2006 TA-088v3, I decided to buy a new one. This was 2 weeks ago.

Today, my cousin gave me US$100 for me to keep and I would definitely save it to buy a new PSP 2000. I saw a God of War edition and I hope it's hackable. I only need atleast Php3,000 more to buy that.

I wonder if it's hackable? What type of motherboard it has?

Did God answered my prayers?

Right now, my other uncle, from the US, gave me a semi-destroyed PSP 2001 which has a LCD issue when you press hard on it or press the D-Pad at combo, it will shuts off. I installed 5.00M33-6 and I can play FINAL FANTASY IX. I can play fine but the LCD is really annoying sometimes when I hit the buttons.

Should I buy my own PSP with God of War?

I hope the people at the other pinoy forum can read this.

I just got a PSP 2000 God of War edition and it is hackeable.

But AFAIK, the 3000 are hackeable too.. the only problem is that you can't completely shut them off, only put it on stand by, or you lose the hack and have to install everything again.

AS much as I hate the PSP, I now hate the 3000. All I want is to play my favorite PS game, FINAL FANTASY IX. Also my sis wants to play Megaman Maverick Hunter X. Im looking for a cheap older PSP 2000 (2001 or 2006)

So all God of WAr PSP are hackable?

Did God gave me US$100 to buy a PSP?

I want a CFW-able PSP2000 which I will not be fucked up when I remove the battery or turn the power at full blast. I want 5.00M33-6 on my PSP permanently (plus updates)


I hate GEN-A Firmware sooooo much. lol

If it's a LCD one and it's a Php 2,500 repair, I can have it repair but if it's a motherboard, I'll scout for a new PSP

Open the bricked psp up as use that to see how a normal psp screen should be, then open up the other psp and see what's different between the two and try and fix it.

Well, I was talking about repairing it yourself :P

If you kinda know how to handle electronics, it could save you a bit of money :P

The screen goes black when keys are pressed too much, huh? It just seems a connector issue.

Opening it up and fixing the connector seems the way to go.

In the worst case, you'll just destroy something that wasn't usable anyway :P

The fact that the PSP doesn't hang up or reset is a good sign.

This should mean that it's not a motherboard problem, but a LCD problem.

It could be either bad insulation or a connector which needs to be reseated.

Try to open it up and see if there's something wrong.

Don't forget to also try to power up the PSP with the screen totally insulated from the motherboard, and try to press it again. If it doesn't happen, you should be able to fix it by putting something between the screen and the motherboard.

Also try if it happens flexing the motherboard. If that happens, it's BAD :P

It's the LCD. The cable is very sensitive. I moved it then it shuts off.

I'll probably have to replace the LCD. It's approx. Php 2,500 here. I dont know how much EYO will charge me for the repair. It's not easy to put it on. but I'll try if I can buy one.

Hmmm...I want IT to be replaced:

Php 3,000 LCD
Php 2,000 REPLACEMENT HOUSING
Php 1,000 CHARGER + USB

That's 6k. I could have gotten a Php 7,000 deal for a working one

I'll try if we can get the God of War PSP or have the current one repaired

Replacement Housing isn't necessary... And gose the same for Charger + USB. Unless you don't have a charger + usb, then you'll need it. But I don't think you really need a new housing x)

i need a replacement screws because I lost the two small screws on top and below the PSP. I dont have a charger so Im going to buy a replacement one.

I hope I got a Php 8,000 deal from Kazushi or below than Php 8,000 and I will have 2 PSPs (one with LCD issue). I'll probably have to return it to my uncle bacause they will leave on Wednesday to the US. Or I will have to send it for repair on another time

Just got the GoW PSP 2001 and it's working fine. scratches on the O-ring. no free games, sadly. sigh.

I now have 2 PSP 2001, the other one has LCD issues, though
