I miss my DS :(

Never in my life have I been this stupid.

August 2008 - I SOLD MY DS. At that time, I kinda got sick of the games that got released (Hannah Montana, My Horse and Me and the games that end with "z") and I got this syndrome where I had too much games and it resulted in me not being able to choose which game I should play, and knowing that I can virtually get any DS game anytime, it just got worse (I got DSTT). So because of that I sold my DS and exchanged it for 4 Wii games (No More Heroes, Link's Crossbow, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad). I was happy.

Or so I thought...

I barely touched those games. I made very little progress in No More Heroes (good game but I had a lot to do at that time), my young cousins play the other games very often but I don't. I didn't enjoy them at all. But I still felt that I made the right decision. I didn't feel the "I miss my DS" feeling.

I sold them.

2009 - I should be having my 1 year anniversary with my DS but no...she's in someone else's hands. This year something weird's been bugging me. It's as if I am being given signs that me selling the DS was a very bad move.
  • Numerous adverts about the DS keep on popping up on the telly (almost everyday)
  • When a kid got stuck in Layton, I helped him. It took 6 hours before I finally gave back his DS (after hours of crying)
  • Pokemon Platinum came out - the game I was waiting for.
  • My nearest Gamestation store had DS flyers everywhere. Should I also say that they had this offer where if you trade-in a DS Lite, you can get DSi for half-price (£79.99)
Now, I miss my DS. I am very sad.

I forgot to mention:
How much did I get for trading in my DS (exchanged for 4 Wii games)? A measly £59.99. I know, I am NEVER making this bad move ever in my life.

How much did I get for trading in the Wii games? Oh IDK...£31.

Good thing is, I spent that £31 for Ninja Gaiden 2 and The Simpsons for the 360, which are very good games (finished Simpsons and still having a hard time on Chapter 8 on NG2)

I made some mistakes in my life and this one by far is one of the greatest mistakes.

P.S. I am on a quest of buying a DS Lite. I have no interest in the DSi. With the price tag, I can buy myself better things. I kinda miss my silver DS Lite. But now I have the chance to pick another colour. Maybe I will grab myself and cobalt blue and black or the red one, which actually made me drool, but not that much.

Same, I bought a new phone with my DS money, now I'm selling my phone, so stoopid.

I learned this lesson a long long time ago after selling my beloved N64.

Never

EVER

Sell your consoles if you think there's even a HINT of you playing them again.

You don't know what you got till its gone. Yes I have face this scenario way too many times, call it bad moves but yes I given my Ipod Nano to my cousin; the same cousin I let him borrow stuff and yet fails every time to return them! I wasn't listening to my Ipod Nano like I use too so I gave it to him to borrow. He broke it...how? I don't know why but I swear I got to stop being generous!

I never sold a console... But I am thinking of selling my old Jaguar though :P( got it in a competition for free)

ya, not to make it any worse but you don't know what you're missing. pokemon plat and GTA are unbelievably good.

you really should purchase the DSi. it's screen is slightly larger and more crisp and if you're already shelling out over $110+ why not just go all the way and get the handheld that's going to be on the market for the next 4 years instead of something that might be phased out if DSi only games come out.

Looks like I wont be selling my PSP..

Its funny though because when you got your stuff stolen; it has that impact on you but not everlasting regret. When you sell something base on your will, it comes back to hurt you from time and time again.

Dont do it for some quick Ka$H. You can do lots with the PSP moreso than a DS.

True, I neer even thought about it that way. And in my case I even factor in like what did I even do with the money I had gotten for it? It's all gone now and I tried buying a N64 off craigslist with mad games, the shit ended up bring like half broken. :(

The statement is more of an exaggeration than a literal one. It didn't really happen. He did get stuck but I asked him if I can play it for a bit, then he said yes. I nearly finished the game...

Very true indeed.

I remember sometime last year, I was about to sell my Wii. I thought that the games sucked big time now and there are no good games for it anymore. My friends told me not to because if I wait for the good games in 2009 I will enjoy it again. I kept my Wii and I never thought about selling it.

I wish I kept the receipts of the things that I exchanged so I can get the DS back...

You guys are very, very right. I sold a PS2 and PSP like 2 years ago.. (Lost my DS lite but i have a new one), and now i find myself wanting them again.

I was smart, when I sold my DS Lite for $180ish (with a ton of stuff) I also got a phat DS for $35ish :creep: .

@SylverReZ Significant pain in my neck, shoulder, and back of my head. Loud ringing in my ear and sounds like I have an ear plug in. Excessive tiredness. Slightly blurred vision.

  • RedColoredStars @ RedColoredStars:
Everything leads to vegas nerve compression. which in looking into it, can cause very bad health issues and can absolutely be fatal.

@RedColoredStars, That sucks. My mum had a very bad neck and she's been to many drs to see what the problem is, and none of them noticed anything (except for one). They found that her discs is squeezing between her esophagus.

Yes. Thats what Ive read. Surgery is most likely required. I sent a message to the ENT center with my concerns and asked if I should be seen much sooner and not wait, since it will be 71 days since symptoms started until my appointment.
