Due a mixture of relatively recently diagnosed ADHD, depression and therefore buying shit to make myself feel happy for a moment coupled with the inability to think before I do anything, I have accumulated a lot of stuff.
It has been an going issue for while and there has been periods of me clearing out stuff to get rid of things but this time, I am being more harsh in getting rid of things. The inspiration is I have of shit which I don't use or see becoming useful which is has been a hassle to deal with. This will also help save more money than spending money on dumb shit. This means things become messy and misplaced. I recently spent an hour looking for my ifixit kit which was irritating.
I live in moderately spacious British room in my parents house, I actually have the largest room here as I work from home most of the week. My room is a bedroom/office. I do have a lot of cool shit
What has happened so far, I had this armchair from IKEA in the corner of my room which takes up a lot of space but early sit on. I use it to store shit so have gotten rid of it. It was taken by one of the builders who is working on my parents' extension. This has cleared up some space up which I have appreciated having again.
I've sold some stuff on ebay with more to do which will generate some cash as well as selling some books. I recently upgraded to an OLED monitor and will be selling my HPx34 to CEX tomorrow during my lunch break. The monitor is on the fucking floor where the chair used to be...
There's some stuff, I've put up on freecycle to give away which has gone quickly but more to get rid off. I made a donation of Gunpla sets and Pokemon plushes to the charity shop yesterday as well. Hopefully other people and causes can benefit from my not ideal decisions.
Some things I've had to throw out which I'm guilty about but if it isn't in a position to sell or give away, I'm not sure what else I could do here as I don't want to just store it.
A lot of my free time has been spent on this so far with my room being a fucking mess at the moment, which makes me laugh considering the purpose of what I'm doing.
My aims are to do the following:
Spent less time finding space to store and clean shit
Be more intentional with what I buy
Save more money - some will go to my savings, my workplace pension and holidays as I want to travel more
Mental Clarity - just having more space will be nice
Not sure, why I'm posting this while I have a break but going to have lunch in a bit and put some stuff up on ebay.
