Two years ago I got this DVD with a nice metal packaging and manual (serial number on back of manual – obviously not on the picture) for a few cent.
Naive LittleSinchen thought:
Great!
I've just found this thing in a moving box again after pushing it away mentally for said two years. Not looked up if:
If anybody knows how to deal this (other than playing Frisbee with the DVD while repeatedly jumping on the metal case and ripping the manual to confetti) I would be thankful.
Disc based only SecuROM is already a pain in the a.. – but this is ridiculous.
Naive LittleSinchen thought:
- I have a readable, perfect condition original DVD
- SecuROM density variations measured
- I have a valid original serial number
- Play game?

A) SecuROM servers are still online and would activate (and if my serial is not banned or overused)… and honestly I don't want it to connect anywhere.
B) this can be circumvented with a crack (probably killing setup with Task Manager right before it can delete stuff)
