I don't know what the fuck happened... but the game wouldn't let me choose Chips to fight.
Suddenly my entire Chip's Folder emptied... the game glitched and crashed.

Restarted it, and... my save file was gone. :hateit:

I'm using RetroArch on Wii.

I've redownloaded the rom and updated RA, just in case.

if it's an old cart or emu it might be an AP measure (those go as far back as earthbound (crashes after the final boss and erases all save slots, but they were particulary prevalant during the DS era (later half)

That was my first thought.
I asked on Reddit (r/BattleNetwork) and users there have told me that BN4 is broken... and these bugs/glitches are expected.

The thing is that I'm replaying the series chronologically and RedSun goes after MMBN3 Blue.

I've redownloaded the rom as I finished this game a long time ago without issues... but that was probably 2011/2012.

Hopefully was just a bad rom.

oh was about to say it sounded simillar to operation shooting star (remake of MMBN1 for the DS (only released in Japan)

Anti-Piracy​


The game has an anti-piracy system that makes the player unable to edit his Folder, so only the initial Battle Chips can be used. Also, at every single step in internet areas, a random battle from the local occurs, making it difficult to proceed as MegaMan will only moves inches between the battles.

EXE4 has a scenario in sharo (coldman) where - when the temperature drops too much - lan will be too cold to send chips.

Can't wait till 2023, with netbattle confirmed and the games being source ports, I couldn't be happier.
I love 4 :-)
