I have spent a few weeks playing through the game at my leisure, finding spelling mistakes, and correcting them in a hex editor. I figured I'd share my work with everyone. So here it is, The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening DX [Redux+].

DOWNLOAD THE PATCH HERE: MEGA

Use Lunar IPS to patch the base ROM:
Legend of Zelda, The - Link's Awakening DX (USA, Europe) (SGB Enhanced) (GB Compatible).gbc

(DO NOT ASK WHERE TO GET ROMS!)

I made myself a physical copy as well:

@WiiMiiSwitch no its a patch for the Gameboy Color version of the game.

Link's Awakening was for the original Gameboy

Link's Awakening DX was for the Gameboy Color

And the Switch version was just called Link's Awakening like the original version Gameboy version.

I hate with a passion the official box art for the Switch version so I posted what it should have been lol or even better would have been to just keep it the same as the original GB box art.

I never cared for the gold box art, the Japanese version a least got cartoons on the cover. I much prefer that version to the USA version. I think Europe's is just black, if I'm not mistaken.

Yep it was black and horrible.

Talking of Zelda when I moved from the Outer Hebrides to Glasgow many many years ago I left a huge number of boxes full of stuff at my Mum and Dad's place witht he intention of collecting then not long after. As I said over 10 years later my Dad has finally got fed up and shipped them down to me. Just opened the first box about two minutes ago and right at the top of the box was these two awesome games.

That's dope! I ordered the GBA repros of these games, and replaced the boards inside with Pokemon repro boards that use FLASH memory for saving. Then I patched each of the Gameboy Color ROMs to have the Advance shop open, and flashed them to their carts here in the pic, using Lesserkuma's GOOMBA Color mod that supports Flash saving. So now I'll never lose my save files, and the saves can always be dumped and flashed into the real cartridges (if I ever want to). No more batteries for saving. So I basically "built" my Oracle games, lol.

Great work my friend.

I'm finding all sorts of hidden weirdness in the first box. For instance a copy of Dino Crisis but it's in a metal box and I can't find any info of it ever being sold like that and I also found a Dragon Ball Z game that I have no idea why its in my collection as I know absolutely nothing about the franchise lol.

The official Redux patch introduced spelling, spacing, and grammatical errors into the game. I merely corrected these errors myself using a hex editor. I would play through the entire game on my Gameboy, and fix any errors I would come across.

Sorry for the bump - Hey Jayro, is it okay to ask for a link to the repro? I can't find one on Aliexpress using that art. Also, how does one program the repro? does it involve desoldering the flash chip used in the repro? thanks
