Swag ps3 controller.

Got a dirty ps3 controller with a dead battery and somewhat worn sticks. Cleaned it up in hot soapy water and put the button membranes in some boiling water to restore the springiness, stuck a new 1000mah battery in and replaced the sticks with some ps4/xbox one metal sticks which required a 2mm thick piece of rubber in the stick hole to have the stick sit higher. Now it's ready for plenty of rpsc3 and pcsx2 :)

Yeah cleaning these things is pretty difficult with all the small crevices but you can get in there with a toothbrush. Really surprised how well boiling hot water restores the button membranes.

What kind of battery did you use to replace the one in there? Normally they have LiPo batteries, but those are always bound to bulge eventually.

@StrayGuitarist I used a 1000mah dualshock 4 battery I bought on amazon. It was for too big to fit in the controller so I removed the outer grey housing to find a small battery like this inside, which I then simply attached to the pcb with some kapton tape. It should also be noted that the battery needs to be for a v1 dualshock 4 because it has the same battery connector as the dualshock 3 (the dualshock 4 v2 has a smaller connector)

Very nice, I tried something similar with my Wii-U Game pad and had to revert as I was getting a lot of hangs on the dpad.
