So, I normally don't swear, but
You're probably wondering how I got here.
So I was on my lunch break, right?
I saw that a bag of Doritos was in an unusual position in the machine
I had recently watched a video that said that vending machines use IR lasers to know when vending machine items fall to the bottom
I thought I could use this to my advantage. I thought, the second bag of Doritos would push the first one (the one that was stuck) out with it, and I would get two bags of Doritos for the price of one.
Nope.
First dollar I spent: Nothing happened, it pushed the second bag forward and further squeezed the first bag. I guess this model doesn't have lasers, maybe they don't make them at all anymore, idk.
Second dollar: Same thing happened, just more of it.
Third dollar: Sunken costs was getting me. This time, the the row started bulging over, and a piece of one of the coils broke off and fell to the bottom. At least I got something.
Fourth dollar: At this point, there was no way I was gonna get what I spent on it, as there were only three bags of Doritos left. Finally, two bags of Doritos fell. I then got two bags of Doritos for the price of four, great! And the third bag is what you see pictures above.
I tried shaking it free, no dice since the machine is so big and heavy. I don't feel like spending another dollar on another bag, I already have two.
I guess the moral of the story is, don't gamble?
