I had already bought all the parts over a year ago, and had to pack them up when I moved in February of this year. I just got them out of the garage, and put everything together.
The most challenging part? I only have a 20v power drill and a small (small af) mini handsaw, as far as cutting the holes were concerned. It was thin MDF, so I had to wear a mask and safety goggles.I bought the storage safe box at Walmart for $40, and took the handles off the sides. I then reused one handle and moved it to the top, where a handle is expected to be.
I chose this Pioneer deck because it can play FLAC files from USB. (Apparently many decks still can't for some reason... I'm an audiophile for uncompressed music.)
I chose these Sony speakers because of how great they sounded in my last car. I don't even need a subwoofer, they just thump.
It's all powered with a 10A 24v power supply, and a stepdown 24v DC to 12v DC converter. The antenna is actually a marine antenna. I wanted something rugged and durable, so that's why I chose that. Upon installation, I added two washers inside of it so I can adjust it at will. Otherwise you're stick with a single position.
