I'm Free

I finally moved out of my parents' place. Feels good, feels real good.

Till you realize you now have to cook and clean and much more by yourself. I mean it's good to be independent in the end, but not that good.

Well, @windhazard, to be fair, I cooked and cleaned for myself (mostly) at my parents' place. Plus I've moved out many times, but they were only temporary for schooling. But now it's permanent :) Yeah cooking sucks, I'll have to get myself into the habit again. But escaping a toxic environment is very good, and I am very happy. I am responsible only for myself now.

Not sure why so many people can't get along with their parents tbh.

My parents aren't controlling and I didn't say I didn't get along with them. They are loving and supportive but also very toxic people that were holding me back. You may not understand that, and I'm truly glad for you, but it's kinda dickish to flaunt your positive experience by implying people who have had shitty parents are an enigma or did something wrong. Some parents are nice, some are controlling, and some are abusive. There are a multitude of reasons why someone may not have had the best experience with their parents in life, and in no way does it automatically make it the fault of the child. Anyway, I'm really glad your experience was positive, everyone deserves a kind, loving environment to blossom in.

ive seen all sorts of white girls move out of there parents and gain like 200 lbs and look and smell like sh*t because they never had to clean or cook a day in their life. sometimes when i go grocery shopping and i look in the white womans cart and its just cookies, chips, crackers, cereal... no real food

@gameboy big lol at your post.

After pondering over it for a while,I think I have a better understanding as to why people can't get along with their parents.Toxic parents create toxic children so it's no wonder they can't coexist. Also the fact that many people have self loathing so when they have kids,it's no wonder they hate their kids when they already hate themselves.

That is not the way I expected that one to go. I typically expect people getting along with their parents to be the default position, and find it rare and unfortunate when not.
Either way glad the OP managed to get out of there if they were not doing well under the scenario, be it actual neglect/abuse or just them not getting how the world works*.

*someone a while back. Just started high school. Dad was then in his 80s, mum was in her 40s when she had him and this was a rather rural, and fairly monied, area to boot... culture clash would have been an understatement.
