The hypocrisy in the Switch Scene

I saw many people hate on TX for using open sourced code without respecting the license and condition. I can understand that this is bad.
But those same people, without a shame, pirate hundreds of games. In my opinion, this is worse than not respecting a license for a open sourced code.
You are basically stealing devs that worked hard (In some companies, the work conditions is inhuman) on making those games.

So please, if you are going to complain about that license bs, at least don’t be a pirate. This is so lame and hypocrite.

I would agree with the fact that plagiarism and piracy is not the same thing but:

Plagiarism: Stealing content --> Claiming it's your content.
Piracy: Sharing or downloading content which isn't yours (technically stealing).

They aren't the same but they still involve the "taking what isn't yours" part.

Hearing both sides argue and bawk like it's a dick measuring contest is already old and needs to stop.

Just use whatever you want and stop bothering people about what's right or wrong, whether you use open-source or SX

This thread is hypocritical. Says if you pirate on free cfw, it's worse than violating a licence. But SX OS main selling point is piracy. But OP conveniently leaves that out.
In other words.
If free cfw pirate but complain about stolen licences then they are scum.
SX OS is bad, but it's ok to pirate and promotes it.
Not hypocritical, no sarcasm, none at all.

Piracy is 100% fine if the alternative is DRM'ed. It's actually the strongest moral choice. DRM is pure evil.

Fallacious argument. Personal Attack. Attack the argument, not the person making it. Whether someone pirates Switch games or not should not be relevant in the argument of whether TX committed copyright violations.

(unrelated/unimportant side note: I haven't pirated any Switch games and I am hugely critical of TX.)

The issue isn't that they steal code

It's that they steal code and then sell it

for people like me who pirate nintendo games out of anger (cause of them using the DMCA to shut down fan projects left and right) i may not be doing a ton of damage to them but every little bit helps, and don't go on "oh there legally obligated to always shut down fan projects" look at Sega for an example of a game company doing the RIGHT thing i could care less about TX because aren't the other dev's breaking the DMCA laws anyways? but i agree stealing the code is wrong but that doesn't put the switch devs in the right at all

@chrisrlink Switch "devs" have nothing to do with DMCAs. That's up to corporate and the company's legal teams. Developers just want to make good games for people. I get the anger about DMCAs, but at the very least don't blame developers.

i'm not well maybe i should only pirate nintendo made games cause they are the root cause of anger not 3rd party devs
