I'm obsessed with flat earthers

Lately, I've been completely enthralled by the existence of people who genuinely believe the Earth is flat. Like, how are there seriously THIS many people who can't comprehend basic math and observation? It's seriously insane to me and I can't help but obsessively watch videos of these people trying to explain why they believe Earth is flat and I don't know why it's so intriguing. I guess just the scope of how large this group is has been something I simply can't wrap my mind around. Now it's my goal to meet one of these people in real life to disprove their terrible logic with elementary-level education. Which, this desire somewhat makes me think I'm being a jerk, but I'll also be potentially helping someone not look crazy in their future (If I could even convince them, which based on my "research," seems unlikely), so I'm fine with it. I don't know why this is a blog, but I felt weird about my obsession, so I thought I'd share, lol.

if you believe that Earth is flat then guess what you will find at the edge? An endless waterfall into the void?? I'd like to know it, ILLUMINAMI!

@leon315 this is what Flat Earthers actually believe:

The earth is sorrounded by a wall of ice called the antarctic.

@leon315 It's common knowledge that the earth has a giant ice wall on the entire edge. Thus, keeping our oceans in place.

Edit: I see my reply was a bit late and someone already enlightened you.

@leon315 I can't answer to your theological questions, as I don't believe in such mumbo jumbo. I only work with cold (no pun intended) hard facts.

@Pokepicker that footage are from international station, so many astronauts from many different countries saw that.

While there are undoubtedly a good number of trolls, the number of people is still astonishing, especially when considering high profile believers like BoB and Kyrie Irving exist. Chances are there are more high profile people too that haven't been public about it at all yet, which when considering how little of the population consists of high profile individuals, makes me ponder just how many the really are. It's gotta be an obscenely high (comparatively) number.

Don't you know that every space agency in the world is part of a massive conspiracy to cover up the flat Earth truth for reasons? Lol

The real question is: what reasons can a person in his right mind have to convince others that the earth is not flat when in fact it is? What's the whole point? If it was indeed flat, what would be the point in denying that? I don't get it.

@Pokepicker
Now there's one I haven't seen. Good laugh.

@god88
This is a question I haven't seen any of them answer yet. The closest it's gotten is "because they want to make money from all the funding," which hardly seems like a good enough reason to have a massive conspiracy. Plus, how much would anyone actually make while legitimately building craft and new tech and paying off every one of the 10s of thousands of employees not to blab?

I've been watching allot of debunking videos recently, mainly Professor Stick and Scimandan.

I just find the flat earthers arguments to be funny, they make moon landing conspiracy theorists seem 'normal' in comparison.

I still don't get it. If there's a company that has no problems with money, it's NASA. The whole conspiracy of keeping the flatness of the earth a secret is flawed and unaddressable. Keeping this secret serves no purpose whatsoever. Even if someone wants to give some credit to their reasoning, there's simply no valid point in it. It's a non sequitur.

I have also watched a lot of those two as well as Cool Hard Logic. I just can't get enough.

@god88
Yeah, but it's the only way to justify space photos, the moon landing, and live videos of earth to all be fake, so they roll with it. It's almost as if their need to convince themselves it's flat outweighs their desire to know the facts.

@god88 At first I had typed out a reply to your previous question (Why would someone convince people that the earth is round), but decided to erase it.

I see now that I should have posted it. As you say yourself, "if there's a company that has no problems with money, it's NASA".

It is in their best interest to keep spewing out images of "curved" earths, and posting statements from their actors. They are making big money doing so.
