Hey GbaTemp family.
A very good friend of mine has come into a kinda crappy situation. Eric and his family have lived in the same apartment for 10 years. Recently, their landlord decided that he wanted to renovate the apartment, thus making Eric and his family have to find a new place to live. They are not leaving on any bad terms at all, but they do not have a choice in the matter.
Eric and his wife Melissa are great people. Eric has always had a job and worked very long hours to make ends meet. They are extremely humble and regularly go to the local food pantry to make up for what they are short on with money. They don't own a computer. They don't have internet or cable TV. Like I said, they live extremely humbly.
I try to do what I can to help Eric and his family out by inviting them over for dinners and letting them do their laundry at our house. I even recently gave their daughter, Gaea, a Wii that I modded and loaded up with a bunch of games so she can enjoy some sort of electronic entertainment.
So, with Eric's current predicament, he doesn't have the funds readily available to afford a security deposit and first months rent. He opened up a go fund me in order to raise those funds so his little girl can continue to have a stable roof over her head.
His landlord wants to start the renovations at the beginning of June, so Eric needs to get everything situated as soon as possible. If he can't make things work out by then, I will be opening up my home for his family to stay at until they can get everything straightened out.
