I need Motivation

something I lack at the moment. As comfortable as I think I am, I really need to lose this weight. I'm already a short person clocking in at 5`5.

December 2015 my girlfriend broke up with me (what a terrible pain to feel, like really I couldn't focus at all in school) but instantly I for some reason became motivated to run. I wasn't running away from anyone or my problems rather I was running to gain confidence, to lose weight.

From the middle of December to April I continued to run and lost a fair amount of weight. My man boobs were smaller, or rather I had more muscle, my pants size dropped from 38 to 34 and my stomach was smaller. After April with my schooling and getting evicted from my home I struggled with keeping up with my exercise. I eventually managed to fracture my ankle which put me off my feet for a couple of months. For about 2 years I have not had any motivations to help me get back into shape.

I moved back up to a 38 in jeans, chest and stomach is back to being fat and I weigh even more now.

What I'm saying is I need to get motivated again and this blog post is gonna help me. I'm gonna make sure that I keep my act together and really strive for a healthier life. I don't want to be limited my self and hope that I can achieve this goal. What do you guys think?

man, i was overweight too about 2 years ago, but im also taller than u(5'5=165cm, me 180cm), after 2 years of gym workout, i finally understand that all excises require also a proper good nutrition plan to succeed, otherwise u will ended eat right back ut lost weights in just few mouths.

remember if you wanna get riped, 50% come from cardio, 50% a healthy nutrition plan, u should really pay a visit to ur local nutritionist

Is the gym a good way to burn off weight without trying to get ripped? I could gain more muscle in certain areas but would it be worth it to try a gym membership instead of doing home exercises and ouside running?
Would going to a local nutritionists help me set up a weekly plan and such?

I will be totally honest with you when it comes to weight loss you need to overhaul your diet, 90% of weight loss comes from diet.

You need to put your weight, height, age and what your normal day looks with exercise or job type into a 'tdee calculator' and this will give you the amount of calories you need a day to maintain your current weight. You will need to eat 500 calories a day under your maintenance level and you will lose at least 1lb a week. Its important to stick to this and not to go lower then 500 calories a day or your body will start to think its going through some starvation period and store most of what you eat for later use and this will make you put on weight even more.

You need to use a phone app called myfitnesspal to log all your food you eat and this will calculate all the calories you are consuming everyday plus it will help you plan meals for the days ahead. Next you need to research something called 'macros', this in short will categorise foods into carbs/fats/proteins. I would start out on a macro split of 50% carbs,30% proteins and 20% fats and alter it as you go along (again myfitnesspal will shows you whats in the food you eat by scanning barcodes on the packet of the food etc)

TLDR: look into tdee calculator, macros and myfitnesspal.

If you get your diet right the fat will fall off of you, if you add exercise into your week then this gets taken into account on your daily calorie intake.

It's wrong thinking gym will burns u more body fats, lifting weight alongside with proper nutrition will increase your muscle that will increase your body ''s metabolism, it doesn't burn directly ur fat.

Second u are lacking a good motivation and maybe self confidence about ur body, try to build some muscles instead do cardio will certainly help you more in ur social life, but it's way more harder than 30min daily jogging, it's up to if you wanna go to the gym or just do cardio around your home.

Edit. I go for 40%carb, 40protein and 20 fats :D

The major problem I have with losing weight must be healthy food planning. I appreciate the advice and really should track what I consume and need to consume.

Also when you guys say I should gain more muscle instead are you saying I should work my body to gaining muscles instead of trying to rid it of fat?
I guess I have a lot of research to do and shopping as well.

Its pretty simple, if you need 2000 cals a day to maintain you current weight and you eat over that... you are storing anything over that 2000cals as fat if you are not exercising.

@Wiibreaker nope, just like I said, muscler burns more calories, having more muscles means more calories consumed everyday, but fats shall be converted into calories.___________________

To tc, getting in shape is very simple, all u need just 1.5-2 hours of daily exercises, 5 times per week and a proper diet, eat right and eat healthy, I dropped 5kg in just one mouth, the big obstacle is to maintain ur body weight, that requires u to make a significant change of your life

@TotalInsanity4 That statement reminded me of a flash game called level up. :P

Basically you do normal stuff like in real life and get better at it, walking leads to Level up your speed to run, jumping makes you jump higher, taking hits make your defense stronger. But you just a girl who do normal stuff. Fun game back in the day. :)

Find a hobby that interests you so much that you skip meals, then you will end up underweight like me.

The majority of weight loss comes from eating better. Working out certainly doesn't hurt (aerobic workout, specifically), but eating better is the key.

My recommendation for you is the most simple of all, start eating better, at certain times and keep track of the time, you should be eating every 3 hours or so, because the body will need energy (calories) often, so don't lose track of your eating times; It for sure will help you, also, get rid of all those junk meals (sodas, chips, and those things) but replace them with some hypocaloric drinks or water when you feel anxious to eat. Also, it's great for you to do Cardio workout (at the gym or in your neighborhood, you could do this just by walking for 45 mins or more). As a Post Bariatric Surgery patient I can tell that the first month at a Gym is the hardest of all, but then, you just start missing your gym workout when you can't make it because of the job.

You gotta do this for you, this is for you, this isn't about anybody. Live for you, Honor You, And Never Lose sight of that
