K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, I use that specifically and it only had options for Windows Media Player or Media Player Classic association, always went with MPC. I see more MKV instances with full length movies, the high quality ones that are over 1GB, typically MKV, under 1GB, MP4. Again that codec pack and MPC play those files just fine. Every possible video file I think, at least the ones that still circulate, even VOB stuff (video files of DVD rips before converting to whatever). I remember downloading Bible Black off a torrent, folder filled with pictures and VOB files, feels like a long time ago, VOB is old.
The CCCP is also used as a abbreviation of the USSR. And yes, VLC is god tier software for listening to music but I use MPC-HC for videos. VLC all the way
I have a 27" 1080p 144hz display, and I just picked up a 21" 1080p 60hz display ($5 from thrift shop, woo woo), hoping to attach it to a VESA mount on my wall or something.
It's not about anime, OP mentioned using VLC player, and I asked him to compare it to the MPC and mentioned that I got it from CCCP and only used it when watching MKV and OGB video files. Lots of anime videos happen to use the MKV format cause of how is presented. It has multiple audio files, subtitle and video files which are all contained in the MKV format. Is just a container for adding the video audio and subtitle files. During playback the user select the combination of each to use. Most likely Movie and anime will have this format since they both use multiple audio files or subtitle files.
It wasn't bout anime, just was asking and stating reasons for having the different video players.
@Futurdreamz It's really nice, if a bit hard on the eyes. Also it was kinda expensive and is TN, but, eh. I view it head-on anyways so that doesn't matter.
they're very useful. especially if you're a streamer because you can play the game full screen on one, and manage twitch or whatever platform you use on the other (or OBS or Xsplit)
