3DS repairs!

So last night my 3DS just stopped working. I couldn't figure it out, but just assumed my NAND fucked up. So restored one from last week, still broken. So I restored an older one than that, still broken. So I complained in the shoutbox about my 3DS being broken. Finally after looking it up, I discovered it my Wifi card that was having issues, but at 5 in morning, I decided to go to bed.
Today I spent the day trying to fix it, but a crackhead stole my tools. So I was SOL until my boyfriends got home from work, since they had my card for their lunches. After they got home of course, I went up to Wal*Mart and bought my a jeweler's kit to repair it.

Upon opening the system, I noticed the piece was loose and fixed it. Which it was working for a short period of time, but I couldn't get online. So I opened it again to see what was up and the top of the cord for that connected the card to the antenna broke off. Which I was like, "Fuck~~~ damn it!!" Which left me in a pretty shitty mood until I remembered I had my old 2DS just laying around doing nothing. So I opened that up to find the antenna was different, but I thought, "Fuck it!" and took it out.
Placing it into the system was a real bitch, but once I got it set up, my system actually worked! From there it was just about putting back together. First, the metal cage for the battery was in the way, so that had to go. Then there was this annoying glob of solder that was preventing the battery from getting into place. So I noticed the 2DS battery was basically the same battery, just 3.7V instead of 3.6V and slightly thinner. So I put that into my system and tested it out, it worked! But glob was still there. So I filed that shit down a bit until it was just below the plastic shell, but still there. And boom! Battery sat perfectly and worked perfectly!
Now everything is back together and I tested everything out to make sure it all worked. First, connected to my internet worked just fine. Including browsing the internet and downloading from my pirate apps. Next I tested out the hardware switch, which turned the wifi on and off, like it was suppose to. Finally, I dropped it on my floor a few times to make sure everything held together like it suppose to. First test, the R button stopped working, so I had fix that and used a little tape to hold it in place (internally,) and it survived the other other tests after that.
So all and all, looks like 2DS parts can work on an old3DS. It just requires a lot of work to get everything set up properly. Still here's a picture of my antenna inside of the battery compartment.

It's probably not the card, but where the antenna was relocated to. Either way, this is kind of a cool hack.

I am 90% sure the piece shouldn't have broken that easily.
Regardless, it seems like everything is holding up ok.

So that thing hanging loose on the 2DS is the WiFi card.... One of mine has it (the non-downgraded one, which I'm not using right now due to a lack of a working display), but the other motherboard (which I swapped into my black/blue 2DS shell, it was a Pokemon OR Transparent Red 2DS) doesn't have it. It seems newer 2DSs don't have it hanging loose?

Bubsy Bobcat I would buy another one, but I didn't want to loss my save, mostly my Pokemon save. I have Pokemon on that save file from my first run on Pokemon Ruby.

Quick update. I opened it up to make sure everything was holding up ok. It was! I checked the battery to make sure I still had enough room and the annoying solder point wasn't causing a hassle. Luckily, it has plenty of room in the case, no damages/scratches. And it charged fully without hassle.

gnmmarechal well, it wasn't hanging loose in my 2DS. There was a cable to had it hidden snuggle near the screen. Mine was a launch 2DS, so I am not sure if all 2DS's went with the same method.

@Crystal the Glaceon I'll upload a pic of my first 2DS (which I bought in 2014 just for getting Pokemon OR. Actually, I preordered OR before getting the 2DS. lol.). It was a black/blue 2DS, and has this hanging (ignore the red shell, I swapped the motherboards, cuz I like the black/blue more):

The motherboard that was on the Transparent Red OR 2DS did not have this.

My brothers 3DS shuts off randomly, took it apart a bazillion times reconnecting the ribbons 5 times aint solved it, any ideas? And did you break off the antenna connector?

I am not a hardware expert, in this case, I only found out the solution by Googling the details. Everything else was just hackishly thrown together.
