the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

Nice timing @Minnow. Downgraded without a brick (It still bricks if you forget to remove the certain .cia file!) going to try CFW now.

10.3.0J N3DS down to 9.2J N3DS confirmed working. Still requires deleting 000400102002CA00.cia first or will result in a brick. RxTools works, browserhax works, Gateway works, shufflehax coldboot works. I think this is a true downgrade minus that one cia file. Pics here:

Also yes, this was the first bricked 3DS in this thread. (It's also the same 3DS in the first post of /hbg/)

Haha, whoops. In any case, I'm glad it's working! Time to flash my old NAND back and ship this N3DS to the person I sold it to!

Oh god... attempting with latest version of the updater, tux's fork is confirmed more safe... waiting for it to finish D: panicking

@Hagslayer5 TuxSH's release of the downgrader is confirmed to be much much safer, it worked for me perfectly from o3ds10.3eur

Worked on 2DS 9.5U -> 9.2U first time, using 9.2.0-20U(Full).zip update pack. If you get a black screen it is probably because of menuhax. Take out your SD card before booting up, put it back in when you are at the menu, and then change the theme to get rid of it.

    i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

    Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
