the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

@Wire Dont downgrade N3DS yet. In sysupdater it even states that it will probably result in a brick.

@jaykureno i am somewhat busy now but basically you want https://github.com/TuxSH/sysUpdater/releases and an update pack for 9.2 or 9.0 (find it yourself). put all the CIAs in a folder called "updates" at the root of your SD card.

to anyone else: if you do this and brick your 3DS, your fault for not waiting! :D

@ihaveamac: you used launcher.dat of GW 3.6.1 ULTRA Beta right ? No problems updating emunand to 10.3 though ?

I can possibly write up a quick tutorial if nobody else wants to. Honestly though its a really simple process and it pretty much just consists of putting the update on your SD and running sysUpdater from menuhax. If you brick it's on you though

@jaykureno I know that, I just want to know for the future when KTM or whatever gets released. So, shoukld I update to 10.3?

So the updates installed. It's hung on Rebooting in 10 seconds, is it safe to just force shut down?

@V3NUS_M1NER Personally on O3DS I've downgraded ~5 times in this thread with 100% success. I may have just gotten lucky though. Ironically I had more trouble using FBI

I can confirm. O3DS and O3DSXL just downgraded from 10.3 to 9.2 succesfully. Time to install CFW.

Whoops, held power button before you sent the message. Rebooting is stuck on a black screen, but no Bootrom error at least... right?

@Wire DONT DOWNGRADE N3DS NOW. But when the downgrader is stabile yea you should be fine on 10.3
