the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

"I heard there were issues regarding extracting on mac osx. I guess that is what caused my first brick. How would I get around these issues?" the issue is OS X would create files beginning with ._ but it would just cause sysupdater to fail and not install anything.

@jaykureno use "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE" in Terminal, then "killall Finder", and then erase the files beginning with ._ on your SD card.

Got DEADCAFE with my 10.3.0-28E (so european) o3ds.
I used IronHax 1.1 :)
PS: But i get always glitch screen when i press START for return to the HBL

@Ptrk25 I found out the cause for that. It turns out if you have a pending firmware update, you need to get rid of that, idk why but once I updated to 10.3, restored the hacks for Menuhax and such, I ran the program and this time when I did the force close, I got a different error that said entry point : ok. The next time I ran it, it detected all the files and worked o_o

alright I'll bite. I want to try this on an Old3DS that I don't really use for anything ever.

what files (minus the update files, I already got those) do I need?

so @ihaveamac I have a non mod and no nand back up should I update my 10.3 or not to 9.2 really want to but I think its to risky yet

@Misledz: which entry point and build were you using? Guess that looks like U and E both work. I'm still trying to get J working, though...

I don't understand, what should be the correct procedure if I get DEADCAFE only with the memchunkhax2 after the FTP force exit method?

@ihaveamac try various entrypoints and .3dsx builds posted near the beginning of this thread. I've seen people confirm shiny build pre-release working, and it's consistent with menuhax.
