the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

Same, I'm on N3DS 10.1.0-27E, but still no luck.

Alright, I set up menuhax. 10.3.0-28J on a N3DSJ, by the way.

- Results of the first build -
Attempt #1: Crashed at "Map complete."
Attempt #2: Same
Attempt #3: Tried to exit FTBrony before running, same results
Attempt #4: FTBrony, Restored kernel memory+cleaned up, Test value 00000000
#5: FTBrony, crash at "Map complete"
#6: No FTBrony, same as attempt #4

Gonna try out the other build now.

Ok I got FBI to launch finally, was weird. Was like "cleaning code" and then bam, FBI menu popped up. Will edit this to post screens

Follow this guide from step 3 to use sysupdater, but launch it through the provided 3dsx (no rxtools, rxmode, pastacfw): https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-upgrade-your-old3ds-from-4-1-8-1-to-9-2-0-20.389187/

Mainly:
III. Updating the console.

1. Download the 9.2 pack for your region on that iso site (google this : [MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions) )
2. Create an updates folder on your root sd card, copy all the cias files from the update pack in it​

It rebooted into homemenuhax, whoops. Rebooted to system menu and... nope, 10.3.0-28J. No brick, though?

give the old method a shot. All the .cia files go in "sdmc:/updates/<cia files>.cia" right? I'm going to try again as soon as the cia pack finishes DLing (33%...)
