the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":
    99% Deadcafe on N3DS 10.3
    • Use menuhax
    • Open FTP-3DS
    • Close it with L+R+Down+B
    • Open memchunkhax
    • It should display deadcafe

N3DSXL 9.9.0-26U

Always went to "Map complete" regardless of entry point, previous apps loaded, etc. Finally got it to work by redownloading the starter kit, putting the new boot.3dsx on my SD card, then using IronHax, booting into ftBrony, doing a hard exit (l+r+down+b), and finally opening the app. Correctly outputted DEADCAFE and promptly hung.

Couldn't get it to work with MenuHax at all.

10.3.0.28U O3DS

Froze on "MAP COMPLETE" with Menuhax after opening FTP 3DS

Worked with Ironhax (got DEADCAFE) after opening mGBA

@Pandaxclone2
Get DEADCAFE now with Menuhax (without opening anything else)

also works on Ironhax without clicking anything
Thank you

O3DS 9.9U, using Themehax and Grid Launcher.
100% success rate, don't need to enter any other homebrew app before, it just works

N3DS XL 10.3-28U, Launched Ironhax, loaded FTP-3DS, exit, loaded Memchunkhax2, DEADCAFE, Press Start to exit :)

Works for me. Browserhax on 10.3.0-28J on a N3DS (J). Didn't work until I ran FTBrony, exit, then entered the app afterward.

Would try Ironhax but unfortunately Ironfall isn't free in this region...

EDIT: I should mention, though: I can't press START to exit the app... I think it crashed on me?

UPDATE

got it working with Ninjhax and Ironhax

got DEADCAFE on o3DS 10.3

seems to work at random though

@AguirreMA You can get menuhax on 10.3 now so give that a try too. That one seems to be the most consistent in producing DEADCAFE but like the rest needs a forced shutdown.

@GalladeGuy Basically debugging memchunkhax2 with what model, firmware and region works or doesn't. Currently doesn't do anything but gives back a Y/N response.

TEST RESULTS:

OOT3DHax
Works with FTBrony/FTP-3DS 10.2.0-28U
RESULT: DEADCAFE
Ironhax
Works with FTBrony/FTP-3DS 10.2.0-28U
RESULT: DEADCAFE
Browserhax
Failed to allow threads on core 1. 10.2.0-28U
Lock up, forced reset
FAILED.
Menuhax
Got to map complete then text corrupted (FIRST TRY with FTBrony).
RESULT DEADCAFE (SECOND TRY with FTBrony).

N3DSXL. 9.9.0.26U,FTPBRONY
result was Deadcafe, after 1 or 2 tries. Locked up though and had to force power off the ds.
Locks up during several attempts though. Doesn't seem to be consistent.

N3DS 9.9.0U got dead cafe after a third try but only as a boot.3dsx and menuhax, got stuck after I tried to restart

GBAtemp should be legally obligated to ban them, as its against the law to collect information from users under 13 because of COPPA. :tpi:

VR had the chance to integrate with existing games and tech but VR companies said "NO, I WANT MY SHIT TO BE STANDALONE AND MY GAMES EXCLUSIVE TO FACEBOOK"

Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.

The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc

The tech to have quality VR goggles at an affordable price is here, but every set has to have 4 additional controllers and be standalone.

These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs
