the memchunkhax2 hype post with .3dsx

there is more going on in the comments that this post is somewhat outdated now.
read this. it's important.
  • you cannot use this for downgrading, installing .CIAs, etc. yet. it is purely for testing.
  • when you post results, include your model, entry point, and full firmware version (e.g. 10.3.0-28E).
  • this has pretty much no risk of bricking as it doesn't write to the NAND or anything. with that in mind I am not responsible if anything weird happens so run this at your own risk.
  • if you get a test value of DEADCAFE then it has worked.
  • this might help with getting "DEADCAFE":

Ninjhax 2.5 New 3DS 10.3-28 Japanese
After the second try it worked, I got DEADCAFE.
I don't know if is something in my 3DS but it not work all the time.
Wait....
Apparently if I do all steps very quickly it work fine, I get the DEADCAFE but with a Exit crash.

On Menuhax I got DEADCAFE w/o any workarounds

On Ironhax on the second time I got it too, perfectly, w/o any workarounds. But the first time I tried I got only the following:

It didn't show the "restored kernel memory" nor nothing below it, so no DEADCAFE.

old 3ds xl EUR, ver: 9.9.0-26E, launched straight from homebrew launcher without running any other apps - menuhax 5 attempts: DEADCAFE all attempts. Ironhax 5 attempts: DEADCAFE all attempts

Just thought it would be nice to add: I simply can't exit the HB pressing START if I launch it through menuhax, I have to hard reboot it everytime. But to the moment 100% of times I got DEADCAFE on menuhax. Through Ironhax the program stopped running on "map complete" twice and got 000000 once, but pressing START to exit seems to work ok (though I got some red screens when exiting).

I can confirm that 9.5.0-22E on Menuhax on 3DS XL gets the test value DEADCAFE. Been tested three times just in case. That being said, all times required that I hard reset the console as it hanged trying to get out either by START or L+R+DOWN+B. Is this normal or does it take some time to shut down?

N3DSXL 10.3.28U - Menuhax/Shufflehax(?)

Menuhax Launch > Head Tracker into force closure > Memchunkhax2 > Test Value: Deadcafe + System is FROZEN. Have to hard reset via power button to turn it off / get out of it.

Has happened 3 times thus far, and I can't seem to get deadcafe via ftpbrony or 3dsftp. Strange.

Thorough testing has led to this being 3 out of 500 tries that didn't work.

Guess my console's doomed

100% success rate with menuhax and ftpbrony (out of 3 tries ^_^ )
hangs on exit though.
other combinations were less successful.

Cubic Ninja does not fair as well on 3DS XL 9.5.0-22E, with the first try failing and the second try freezing I think.

That may have something to do with menuhax's userland possibly having more freedom than other exploits, although I could be wrong.

EDIT: Browserhax fails to show DEADCAFE too. Just in case I re-checked menuhax and it showed DEADCAFE, same as the previous 3 tries. What is apparent however is that the system either freezes or is unstable trying to exit in Menuhax.

On n3ds 9.9u with ironhax.

First time ran it without using ftp homebrew trick, no success. Got stuck at overwrite complete.
Second time ran it after force closing ftp, no success. memchunk launched but basically printed garbage.
Last try, opened exdata tool, forced closed and then tried memchunkhax, got it to print deadcafe.

1/3 isn't too bad.

The point of the FW ttp pack is to add in a little extra data to ensure noobs don't accidentally brick their system, what do you expect? a working exploit? memchunkhax2 is neither finished nor being coded by him.
