Can we respect upset Gateway owners?

Just FYI, I'm not one of those upset people. I am curious to how long we have to wait but you guys do not have to continuously bash on others who are complaining about no progress.

It IS their job at Gateway to at least give a small update. Give a little progress. Anything to let people know they are still working. People don't have to say "oh stop whining" because they are all customers of Gateway. Without the purchases of the customer, Gateway wouldn't have as much money. I feel that if you buy a product, you do have a right to speak your mind.

I'm not saying this just to annoy other people, but come on. People know their options. Either wait to see if they will deliver an update or purchase a Sky3DS. I, for one, would like to wait as Gateway's features are very useful. Gateway not responding to people's emails, as far as I've seen through the past few weeks, is terrible customer service and it's no wonder people are complaining.

I know that I'm still considered a newcomer on these forums but I've actually been around a lot longer than expected. I just made an account late. I just want everyone to respect one another's side. Maybe people are being impatient but I do agree that showing the Gateway working with the New 3DS XL months ago and not updating people on progress is bad business.

We don't have to fight over this. Everyone should just work together to figure out when an update will really come.

Yeah, I know. I understand also. Currently my N3DS XL is in the box right now as I wait. Still, we can't group everyone together as a whole and start getting angry at them. Maybe it's one person, one day, then another a different day but we don't have to put them in the same category. Everyone is looking for the update and I know a few can get upset. Maybe they do require a little more patience but we don't have to say things like "stop your whining" and such. I just find it disrespectful. We're all a part of this community.
 
You said you are new here, so probably you dont know all the fanboy debates here. To be short, gw users are getting BS because they firstly did the same on sky3ds users, for the 10 games limit DRM and for the fact that it is "easily blockable".
You will see by your eyes that when (if) gw will release n3ds support, gw fanboys will restart to BSing sky3ds users.
Is how things goes here, and on internet in general

Gateway is not Apple.

Gateway is not Target.

No where on their site does it guarantee updates. We expect them because we got them in the past. If you didn't fully expect it to get blocked, that is your fault

The video is a concept, not a promise.

What you kids need to understand is that Gateway does not owe you anything. They can stop updating at anytime, and you can't blame them.

Because of this, all of the complaint makes you all sound like churlish 8th graders who didn't get an extra chocolate milk with your lunch. You sound entitled, and all the birching and moaning isn't going to make the updates come any faster.

All it does is betray your maturity level.

My advice? Stop checking on it. Forget about this. Go play other games, or go create something or do something useful.

I said I am "CONSIDERED" new here... I made an account late. I've been following the forums and new threads for a long time...
I have seen the Sky3DS bashing as well. It is stupid, but I don't believe it will continue. I say that because they both have their advantages.
Sky3DS can be used while your system is updated. Also available now for users of the N3DS which is good. Gateway 3DS can do multiple things, and it's region free.
It is how things are but they can be prevented. No one should have to be bashed on at all. Everyone should be helping one another to be honest, when it comes to a situation.

Who is "we"? I'm not the one complaining, so I know this isn't directed towards me. I'm doing just fine with my original 3DS XL. Not sure if you understood the purpose of my post or not.

Also, if you didn't see this on their main site: "*Support for New 3DS is still a work in progress, please be patient!" That kind of just went against everything you were trying to point out, but hey it's not me who you're saying is complaining.

This user has like 40 posts and all of them are bashing people and calling others 'kids'. Safe to assume he's just a troll :)

I have a SKY3DS because I couldn't stand the wait and while I'm frustrated that Gateway hasn't come out yet, I completely understand the people out there who aren't able to afford both devices. I've been suggesting to all my friends because of this to buy SKY3DS cards because it's a simple matter of 'who knows' with Gateway and that's just a given based on the business model and product they sell.

It sucks for everyone unfortunately at this point.
 
I've moved on. Sold my Gateway a few weeks back. Have my Sky in my NA N3DS XL on 9.0 and a Vita with Freedom Wars to hold me down.

The complaints are Justified. It's $60-70 for a card lacking a promised feature + whatever you paid for your MSD. It would be nice for an update.. but I'd personally just recommend selling your card and trying to earn back what you lost. If you REALLY need it after it's released, then just rebuy it. That or store it away in a safe place and just live your life.

Oh and YES, I am aware that it states *Work in Progress*. I'm also one of those people who would have preferred gateway just given us an update on 9.2 support without mentioning the N3DS until it got closer to release.

Yeah, that's another thing I've noticed. It all began when people bought Japanese N3DSXL's because people were afraid the US ones would come with higher firmware when released.
Then I guess people assumed Gateway would be ready by the time the US version came out. People just have to be a little more patient with things but I don't think they need to be bashed on unless individuals keep complaining about it, then go off on them lol

I agree. Some type of update instead of ignoring their customers in order to at least calm them down, that way it's better for them and for the threads here. If they take too long for me, I'll just buy a Sky 3DS. I'm in no rush as I've been busy and I have my Wii U, PS3, PS4, Vita and 3DS to keep me occupied. I also heard Freedom Wars was good. Good job on that buy.

Ah, I see. Haha, but yes I understand. If you can't wait, then going for a Sky 3DS is a good option. I can understand others as well. Each card has a different advantage and anyone that wants to play their games right away can go for Sky 3DS. Gateway will possibly come "SOON" (the joke of the threads lol) and I'll continue to wait. If it doesn't, I'll get a Sky 3DS. The price might go down a little as well.

If it was a good Monster Hunter clone, I wouldn't complain. :P Glad you find the game enjoyable. I'll have to look into some gameplay. Everyone's been saying that game is great
 
I think everyone needs to take a chill pill. They have said several times in the past that they're still working on the update, there's no sense in posting the same thing over and over. By this point, people should already know they're working on it. If they keep posting updates like "we're working on it, and it's nearing completion" they'll just give people false impressions about the release date, when really it's impossible to know an exact date since there will often be unforeseen issues that they have to fix before they can release. It's better if they don't let themselves get distracted with that. As a programmer, I know how disruptive distractions can be, even if they're small ones.

Although I do wish it would come out soon, I don't expect them to post anything more until it's out. Mainly because there isn't really anything to say except what they have already said several times.
 
freedom wars is awesome :D though the code 8 trial sucks, have my problems atm there :(

Let's be honnest, that sky3ds vs Gatewait war is plain stupid.
Both is a piracy device, having their advantages.
The final choice is what you want to do with it.
