astrangeone's bento counter - Slenderman sammie!

gallery_232010_1512_59016.jpg

Slenderman lives...in my bento box.

Minutes to Prep: 20 minutes - baked the creation in the oven, and drew on it after it cooled down.

Carbohydrates: organic rye bread!

Protein: two slices of cheddar cheese food, some gruyere cheese, two slices of mead marinated ham steak

Veggies: yellow bell pepper, under the sandwich (hence the aluminium foil)

Fruit: granny smith apples, diced and soaked in apple juice to prevent browning.

Other: mead in the ham-steak!

Decorative: single emoting face pick.

Recipe for astrangeone's Ultimate Sandwich!
Ingredients:
- ham steak
- mead
- grany smith apples, sliced paper thin
- good cheddar cheese
- gruyere cheese
- bread of your choice!

Marinate the ham steak for a good 12 hours in the mead. Drain, and fry up the ham steak until it's good and golden brown. Layer your ingredients like this: bread, cheddar, apple, cheddar, ham steak, cheddar, apple, gruyere, and then the bread. Bake in the oven 'til your cheese is good and melted....

Take a bite!

Haha Cute. Did you use food colouring for his suit? Some reason I keep thinking you penciled it in lol

She did pencil it in. She has markers with edible ink :)

But how did you cut him out? Gingerbread man cutter?

Yep. Gingerbread man cutter with all the layers!

He ended up sliding a couple of times, there was too much cheese!

Yep...those food markers are pretty cool. :D

Verdict: I ended up eating this bento at around 11:30 am. The mead marinated ham was pretty good, and not strong at all. (It was good because it was sweet and salty.) I ate slenderman with bites of granny smith. Highly yummy! It's a very filling lunch, since there is so much protein in the sandwich.

The veggies were pretty good, although I'm starting to hate yellow bell pepper!

I'd be going to a placement interview in 20 minutes. Wish me luck!
