So I'm back

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I was at a funeral all weekend. I had internet access but could only use my Vita for that so I didn't even check up on here.

It was a trip though. About a five hour drive to upstate New York (the really rural areas) with my cousin and her kids. It wasn't a bad ride though, just long. I really didn't even do much. I took a nap, played Dissidia 012 a bit, but most of it was just looking out the window. Despite being a rural hick area, it is rather beautiful. Sweeping, hilly landscapes, oceanfront houses, very nice. I can see why my grandparents retired there.

It was a rather touching service. Pretty much everyone on my dad's side of the family came. It was powerful though. I guess my only regret with my grandmother was not knowing her more. She was wise beyond her years (even though she was in her 80's when she passed), outgoing, and always looking for the next challenge.

That being said, her death was a bit... creepy, in terms of things surrounding it. After she died, my aunts and uncles went onto her computer and found a poem about death. We don't know it if was written by her or not but we're finding that out now and trying to copyright it if it's original. There was also a perpetual calendar that my grandma would read everyday. On the day before her death, the quote was something along the lines of a peaceful death (which she had, she died in her sleep). The next day on the calendar was about joining the Lord in heaven, stuff like that. A lot of things just lined up too oddly.

If you want to read her obituary, you can see it here. As my grandfather said the day he read it, "Look honey, you made it in the papers." I'm in there somewhere, those who have me on Facebook will notice my name.

Otherwise, I still feel sick and I'm going to schedule a doctor's appointment. This is my third absence in a row in school and I really shouldn't miss so much of it. I know it's the last month of school (I graduate on June 18th) but I still have work to do. I'm a slacker and a procrastinator but I'm still a worker.

So, that's it for now. It's nice to be home.
WAIT. You live in/close to NYC?!
No, I live in New Jersey. Which is like sorta close to NYC but not really.

Don't stay sick too long; I actually have to work in CG2 now!

Get better, Guild.

Feel better, Guildie :(

A little creepy that you found that stuff your grandmother wrote. Maybe she was anticipating it. But it sounds like she lived in a beautiful area.

Sorry for your loss, Guild. I haven't lost anyone close to me so I can only imagine what you and your family are going through. Get well soon.
