armloader hax dilema

I am a sucker for all these modifications i can do to my consoles, i really want to try to instal armloader9hax, but for some reason im terrified to do it, specially because right now there is no way i could get another N3ds or send it to someone for repairs, i am also a bit lazy since i need to move everything from my sd card to do a fresh install (i know i dont have to but id feel safer if i did)

its eating me alive, stupid bricking fear.

if you do everything from scratch your safe just back up your nand and sd and start everything clean. 99% of bricks are due to user error. Id link you a vid that someone linked me to help me but idk what it was now.

Just follow plaicets guide word for word, step for step and you'll be fine. I did it with my n3ds and it works great

what worries me is that it no longer says to unbrick the emunand D= i think im blind or something

Does it matter if my 3ds nand size is the 1.84gb one? since i read that rednand shrinks it and stuff, i am usually not nervous when it comes to these things.

thats what im doing but it doesnt mentions anything about emunand sizes while cloning to sysnand QAQ

Have that from the dev behind OTPHelper: This is, by now, as safe as it can be. OTPHelper checks for every relevant user error there is.

The last remaining relevant bricking issue (that OTPHelper can't check) was users forgetting to turn on their Wifi before doing the downgraded EmuNAND -> SysNAND transfer, and this can now be solved by removing the battery and putting it back in. Your chance of bricking is lower than 1% for sure, most probably almost non-existant, though.

If bricking your console is your absolute worst nightmare, holding off from it is still a valid decision, but don't overestimate the danger as well.

Do it fam. Or if you're too scared/lazy/don't care about fast boots there's always lesshax + ctrbootmanager. I've never had a failed boot with this setup.

@PandaPandel, OG 3DS is -not- fun to put back together, and that's coming from someone who at the time was pretty familiar with reassembling DS Lites. Total pain in the ass, and screws of varying length that'll poke through the face surface of the bottom half of the shell if you put the wrong screw in the wrong spot. Totally not talking from experience there, nope
