50 sit-ups, wtf. :3

A few hours ago, after lazying around for the last two years, I just did 50 sit-ups in one go.

I'm a little amazed how easily I could pull it off and a little scared of the sore muscles I'm gonna have tomorrow. XD

Also, I just decided to quit smoking, knowing me I'll probably get weak the next time I drink coffee or alcohol, but since I almost never do the latter, being a busy mother and all.. I dunno, maybe I can keep myself from smoking. We'll see about that.

Anyways, back to the sit-ups, a friend yesterday called me and asked me if I'd like to join his and some friend's bet called the "Abs of Steel", they'll all do alot of training and who has the most awesome six-pack til December 15 wins. Yeah. I told him I wouldn't officially join them but try anyways and there I go. It actually felt quite nice to do those 50 sit ups, since I had to stop doing any sports at all after I had the c-section when my son was born.. and not doing anything at all had made me really lazy and chubby, so yeah, it's a good thing to start doing sports again.

I want to play squash again too, but there's no place here in crappy craptown where you can do so, sucks much?

I can't decide on anything else, I mean, fencing would be awesome, but way to expensive. I hate jogging and I don't have my bike here, besides, crappy craptown is not only crappy but fugly too, so I wouldn't really want to ride my bike here anyways.

Any suggestions about some awesome sport I can do either alone or with my bf together? Since I want him to be a bit more sporty too... :>

Meh, I should go to bed, but I dun wanna.. :/

And: Yay for my first blog entry here.

In math class everyone donates ten cents for every push-up someone does.

Yes if you do too many, Crunches on other hand, much harder and more toning is safer on the back as you aint resting on it, but you are correct :D

Lay off the sit ups, I hurt my neck a long time ago because I was too into doing sit ups. If you wanna tone your stomach, just do half-crunches.

There was the time I could do 70 in one go (push ups), it was half year, year ago....I was doing 400-500 a day, in few series..But I stopped, and now I can't get myself to do it again, I don't have the will, but I really have to......

:(

move on to doing 50 squats and feel the burn in the morning!

not a good thing because I'll be walking alot tomorrow where I'm going :(

I remember in school, I got punished for not wearing my gym shorts one day (I simply forgot) and the teacher made me do 50 sit ups......I did them in 35 seconds. No joke! My ass would literally bounce off the ground as I was doing them. The dude holding my ankles was wide-eyed at my performance. I was in the best shape of my life back then, zero body fat. I used to tear up the back rims of bicycles with my sheer strength. I could do burn-outs on my bike on dry ground. Truth. I'd flex my legs and people would go, "Damn!" I could do the 100-yard dash in 11.8 seconds.

Even though I'm still friends with the dude that started me smoking (my oldest living friend, I've known him since I was 7....I'm 40 now), I will always hold it against him for getting me addicted to the damn things. It has absolutely killed my athleticism.

I used to be a beanpole.....thin and wiry, flexible and very strong for my size. Now I'm an overweight pudgy bastard ever since I got a car and stopped riding a bicycle everywhere. Well, the beer guzzling didn't help either.

For whatever reason, I still retain the massive musculature and flexibility in my legs though. Compared to the rest my my sorry ass, my legs look like they were transplanted from someone else. It must be from lugging all the extra tonnage of my beer gut around is the only explanation I can come up with. Still, all the flexibility remains. I can point one foot forward, one foot backward, no problem. I can do the Yoga thing where I sit "indian style" and both knees touch the floor. I can sit (for example) with the left ankle on the right knee and touch the floor with the left knee, or vice-versa. For some odd reason, that seems to excite women.

I think, with very little exercise, I could regain most of my previous physique, but I'm much to tired and consequently lazy from working too much to do that kind of crap.....not to mention that the neighborhood I live in is prohibitive to riding a nice bike without getting your ass beaten and the bike stolen from you. I never was much of a fighter. The few times I did try to defend myself, I scared myself by almost killing the person who messed with me, so I avoid fighting whenever possible.

Anyone who remembers my maintaining of the cheat dat knows I'm a pretty intense person, that intensity is my life. I don't do anything half-assed. I either zone on it or I don't do it at all.

I've been working on the intensity thing.....I've been making a conscious effort to relax more, to not get so worked up over inconsequential things. It's not easy.

Hell, I'd consider myself lucky if I could even do 50 sit ups now.

Holy shit. Are you sure? I've been doing 210 sit-ups straight every night for about 3 years now. I guess its time for change

100 sit ups and 70 pushups are part of my swim sets every day :(
I swim, the coach randomly calls someone out during their swim, makes them do their sit ups/push ups, and then they go back in the pool and starts to swim again

but when I wasn't in the team, 70 sit ups and 50 pushups were my max :(

You need to lose body fat for the abs to show otherwise it's pointless.

I would suggest a martial art. It's not repetitive and boring, doesn't require expensive equipment, it's a good all-round workout, and you can exercise alone or spar with someone if you want.

Actually, after looking at some videos at youtube I noticed, what I thought were sit-ups are actually crunches, I never knew those were called that way, I just thought.. I dunno. XD I knew those real sit-ups are bad for your back so I never did those.. oO

A-anyways, after waking up this morning I did another 50 crunches. My muscles are only a little sore, so it's all cool. XD Aaaaand... we went to an indoor-playground with our son today, which was alot of fun. After that we took a long walk in the nearby park, awesome, I didn't knew there was a park that near (we kinda live in a ghetto, sigh), there was an awesome playground too and yeah. I wish I had my bike here now. ;_;

Also, push-ups are no option at all, forst of all I have like NO strength at all in my arms and since I broke my wrist with 16 I can't stretch my right hand enough for doing push-ups at all... also, I really don't like doing them... and I don't want to gain muscles on my arms anyways!

Squats look rather not cool too, ehh.. and do you gain muscles on your neck by doing those? Do not want. o_o I seriously just want more muscles on my belly and ass, everything else just doesn't look right on girls imo. A-and I wouldn't even be able to lift those weights anyways... XD

@ Rayder: Yeah, I know that feeling, I mean, I'm a housewife and mother, so all day long I have to take care of my son, do the laundry, clean the flat, this and that and doing sports while my son is awake is a little complicated.. when my bf gets home from work / university I'm rather tired and lazy too, telling myself to actually move around some more to do sports is hard. But yeah, self-discipline is pretty important, so I dunno, try to train that, since it probably helps with your intensity problem too! And yeah, I wouldn't want my nice bike here either, even tho (or because I am?) I'm a girl I would be scared that somebody would steal it from me.. :wtf: Mhn, I bet you could do those 50 sit-ups (or rather crunches) if you'd really force yourself to do them. For me, after not doing any for 2 years, it was really easy which was a big surprise. Maybe it would help if you do some sports in the morning, before you leave for work and get tired by it! :3

also, sorry if my english sounds rather crappy right now but I'm too tired to actually think more. XD

edit: Oh and yeah, about the martial arts, I'd like to start doing some again, but not here in this craptown, I'll surely do so when my son is a little older and we're back in Hamburg.. *nods* but that will take at least one more year.
