I'll be going back to my hometown in China in 4 days!! WOOT! I'm pretty excited since it's been 3 years since the last time I went. But then, my report card arrived a day ago and let's just say... my parent's aren't too happy about it. I hope the report card doesn't ruin the mood of our trip, I mean, I didn't do THAT bad. Having asian parents is really tough!
I have to do lots for the next two months staying there. Besides visiting family friends, relatives plus A LOT of travelling I'll also have to do a bunch of other stuff. The "other stuff" mostly refers to meeting by gaming needs. :yayds: I plan to get myself two new flashcarts, a SuperCard DS One and an iTouchDS. I made my decisions after 3 months of reading reviews and discussions on GBAtemp, and I thank everyone here in this community for helping me get there. I also plan to get a white shell for my Phat DS, plus new LCD and touch pad to replace the current one with all the scratches and dead pixels.
I'll also have to find a place that can fix up my friend's broken blue Phat. He bought it for $10 off this guy who abused the crap out of it. The right hinge is broken and missing. There's a round dip on the touch pad, I assume the guy stabbed it with the stylus. The poor thing has been dropped and spilled on with bubble tea. After all that, the unit still works. By "works" I meant it turns on. The top screen is white, and the bottom screen looks ok, I guess.
I'm sure I'll find someone to get this thing fixed up, since I can only do minor repair that doesn't involve replacing parts etc. There's places where they get your gaming equipment repaired and "recycled" ?!? I'm not sure what they mean by that term, but it must be something bad. I gotta spend lots of time, going shop after shop, asking for pricing and such. I just hope I'm still fluent enough conversing in Chinese to get those things done.
After all that I'll get myself a Wii, despite the fact that my parents don't want me to. They want me to focus on studying more... meh. Now I know absolutely nothing about the Wii, modchips and related equipment. I've stuck to handheld gaming for the longest time. Well, maybe it's time for a change.
I have a feeling that I won't have much internet access during my stay in China. So I decided to write my first blog here on GBAtemp. I will certainly miss everyone here, but I'll feel much better when I came back. Until then, I wish that everyone have fun and enjoy themselves.
Cheers,
