Aside from some things already mentioned in this thread, I have a rather petty complaint.

The Xenoblade Chronicles sidequest ticked me off. Instead of being offered as an optional, free DLC quest, it was slipped into a game update. In other words, the main game now contains a blatant advertisement. (The DLC is separate and optional, so the Nintendo Switch shirt, etc. aren't bothering me nearly as much.)

Yeah everyone went crazy about this cooking, it's just a pain in the ass combining the ingredients and finding recipes yeez
Yeah freaking boring! BotW is the best looking Zelda, but the game play sucks! I hate it probably just as much as Skywards Sword. And i absolutely don't understand all the positive reviews, Nintendo probably payed them off.

O yeah, also the motion controls that were forced upon you and almost made it impossible to get into the dungeon was very frustrating about Skywards Sword and the absence of the for Zelda-so-typical-day-and-night-cycle was a huge deal-breaker to me.

The dungeons - I like the standard dungeons and the standard gears. I hope, they will add these back in the next zelda game.

The Ganon fight wasn‘t epic to me. In the other games it was epic af and it costs alot of time to beat him. In botw it was easy and the champions did damage him so hard, that it was in the end to easy to beat him and yes, I agree with the water exploration.
that's why you fight ganon before you do the champions. You choose the difficulty on the ganon fight. So much more rewarding when you fight ganon with low hearts and no champions

What are/were your disappointments with Breath of the Wild?

For me it was the lack of water*. I was hoping that when the commercial unveiled with all the water scenery that Link would be able to explore those bodies of water. In the game he was only able to float on the surface and catching fish without a rod was weird. In previous games he was able to dive in or sink to the bottom and explore (except for windwaker, 99.9%water....)

*water exploration
my disapoint in the brething of wild was the lak of midnos and feys like the older good and nice zeldos. was the nicest and made me fel like having: frends. also, i love teh stick of sungs in the wind woker. unfortunat here is just whistle song of horse. sads :whip:F

I didn't like the climbing neither, it felt like a rip-off of Assassins Creed, where the latter was created as a rip-off from Zelda in the first place. So, adjusting Zelda to a western public is moving away from what made it great. Zelda lost its originality and has died because of it. And don't even get me started on those obnoxious amiibo's! For f**k's sake how can you force that sh*t upon us like that Ninty?

I can't speak to the later games but the earlier ones I played saw climbing be a pretty essential part of the game, and useful ability within it should you wish to use it.

it was just weird to me that nobody ever looked up at the guy running up houses and flipping across buildings leaping 50ft then murdering people. i played unity and syndicate they werent fun imo. origins looks fun but i hate desert settings even though they did add a bit of water

Sound:
Yea it's an open world so it's probably harder to make same good sound for the whole game, but it's all recycled, something like song of storms or gerudo valley doesn't exist.
Dungeons: It's more like OOT child dungeons and pretty weak.
Boss: Nope there weren't any, or maybe one if you count all 5.
Shrines: not really hard, most of them felt the same like there are 5 different kinds which repeads them self.
Sorry but I think it's more or less a hardware demo for the switch, there are still so many questions.

The story is weak per se, so many good ideas but none of em is really finished.
5/7

For the ones I played there were plenty of general NPCs which commented on it, and guards that would do stuff about it, be it on the ground or when you were up there.

Also nobody ever looks up and see also "bystander effect".

Re "i hate desert settings even though they did add a bit of water"
Curious, I have never found settings something to be dismissed. They can do it badly and it can be inappropriate (pretty hard to do a subtle romance scene during desert survival)

i dont like how food/elixir effects dont stack. for instance you can stack 5 attack fish for +3atk but combining attack+defense food only gets a heart refill instead of +1 atk & def

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
