In other words, will the m3 team and other teams eventually stop patching their games, once ds-based carts that can work with clean roms become mainstream? I don't want my m3 to become obsolete

I don't think they will abandon the Slot2 cards until the DS is replaced. It would be pretty foolish to piss off all the people that supported them by buying M3s.

Anything can happen and it's not like this is the most reputable business out here.

until they stop selling units, it will be supported. if they want to continue being a major player in the business, they will continue updating forever. time will tell ~~~.

i dont even see them stopping updates even if slot1's can play .gba games.
