So, what's the deal? FPS, some kind of RPG, another rhythm game? People have been talking about this but I seriously have no idea what it is.

it has 3-4 player option... but it's mostly more 1vs1 like the old skool version of it.

Advance Wars clone from Hudson for Wiiware?

Looks good!
the original [Nectaris] predates AW, actually

totally liking how they took the US title for the original game and the Japanese original game title

and made one very new, convincing title

also how is a hexagonal grid anything like an AW clone? you're pretty much attackable from all sides lol

It's a decent game. The actual gameplay is pretty solid, but unlike Advance Wars (regardless of which came first), this thing is way barebones. No cool story and character bits during and between missions. It's really dry, very unexciting. I've actually had more fun playing chess.

Well, while this isn't exactly an AW clone (there are MANY turn based strategy games, that alone does not make an AW clone), but it doesn't predate the "wars" series. AW1 was actually a sequel to Super Famicon Wars, which was a sequel to the Famicon Wars and GB Wars series. It's older than you think, and it DOES predate the Nectaris series by about a year.

The more you know.
