Hacking Wiikey update on the horizon

Wiinewz.com is reporting that the new Wiikey update is at its near-final build and that it could be released very shortly barring the detection of any major bugs. Maybe hell froze over! Good thing too, I just got a Wiikey for my Wii assuming this release would take place. The fact that Wiinewz has it is good too, if the Wiikey team decides to dick out of a release, Wiinewz would probably leak it.

UPDATE (9/2/2007): Wiinewz.com admin is now reporting that final build is complete and will be released in the next few days

Well, the reason I take this different from the other messages is that Wiinewz was one of the groups along with GBAtemp that attacked Wiikey in its reviews for being so tardy. The fact that Wiinewz confirms the existence of the beta and the fact that they have it, I believe that holds more water. I could be wrong, but I'll try and be optimistic.

Who needs an update it runs backup Wii games from the same region as your Wii, that is the main reason for owning one IMO.

I agree. I think there is grounds for believing that an update will be released by someone at some time... Just laughing at how many times I have read something to the effect of "Wiikey update soon!"... It is beyond even bothering to care about a possible release date at this stage

Honestly, now I'm pretty numb to this whole update thing. It doesn't surprise me reading something like this, I guess i'd only be surprised if I actually saw a link on wiikey's site saying something along the lines of "New update on download page".

Then again, for what I got the wiikey for (playing backups of my own region) it works great, I barely play any gamecube games anymore.

Woot! wiikey update out, verison 8.7 it's floating around in the Sub-Internet. i dont think you can find it on the normal internet since it was lost to porn industry durring the Porn War of year 2035. i beleive by throwing in extra BS in my lie people will get distracted and believe. wiikey needs to slap me in the face with cd that has the upgrade on it before i'll believe it.
