At least that is what this guy is demonstrating as he plays his Wii u on a Japanese bullet train.

HD gaming on a train could also be accomplished more efficiently with a Vita or ... (grittting teeth) tablet.

It's still a cool thing that the WiiU supports semi-portability though. :)
It's no longer HD when he's using the Gamepad anyway. But pretty cool, I've been thinking of doing things like this.

It's an American unit, the Wii U isn't out in Japan yet. I wonder why he has two cables connected and not only one, the power cable is enough isn't it?
75W which is what the Wii U drains should be just about what you're allowed to use on the shinkansen.

He's in Japan riding the Shinkansen, and he's using an American Wii U unit is what I'm saying.
It's hard to tell if it is in Japan, the writing on the seat looks like English.

Edit: Although I've never been took much notice of bullet trains, not sure if they all have AC sockets or if that's Shinkansen only.

If you look at the original Japanese source there are more pictures and when it comes to a lot of train stations in Japan my experience is that they have things written in both English and Japanese for the most important information. Do notice that I said most important information, there's a lot of things that aren't translated.

And AC sockets in trains aren't exactly exclusive to Japan, I know for a fact that a fair share of trains here in Sweden has them too (not the commuting ones, but that's besides the point).

Wow, with a portable LED TV he would even play a Playstation 3, and with a cell phone hotspot he would feel like he was in home. If you look at the pictures on source link, he is even eating some sort of sushi in a huge amount, so I guess his trip will be long.

By the way. he should try this on my city:

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
