I want to pick up a few VC games but I don't want to buy them and not be able to play them on my Switch. Like I know we don't have much of an idea about Switch VC, I just don't want to waste my money.

I also have the same reasoning of yours. I'm waiting to buy more VC games on the Switch because Nintendo doesn't understand the meaning of having a unified account system with cross-buy.
