So I've been using my Wii to play some of my old SNES games and unfortunately the only monitor in my house that still has Wii's ancient inputs crapped out on me.

I am currently using SNES9XGX 4.3.2 on the Wii and thought it would be easy enough to just drag and drop the save file from the SD to my PC to finish playing my game on SNES9x-1.53. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that easy, and also I can't seem to take any save games from my PC Snes9x and transfer them over to my Wii either. They just won't recognize the saves on either platform. I've made sure to use the exact same filename to avoid any small mistakes.

Is there something specific I need to do to get compatibility working between save files, I thought they were all universal or similar enough that it wouldn't be a problem.

Looking any help someone might have on this issue. Thank you.

I did this without much trouble years ago. Can't recall if I used savestates or regular saves, but both should technically work (although regular saves are more reliable and won't break if there are any changes in how savestates are stored)

I had to track down the save file on the SD, IIRC it wasn't stored in the same place as the ROMs, and I think it was also named differently so I had to rename it to the ROM filename when copying it to the PC (or vice versa to copy it to the Wii)

Granted I was copying savefiles to the Wii, not from it, but it should work just the same.

Sorry I can't be of more help. It's been a few years and I don't remember the exact steps.
