the main goal, as far as piracy goes, is to make the games free. that bypasses the licensing portion. I know nothing about switch hacking really, but iirc, it required pokemon home in originally to use as a base for installs. it most likely still does. as per the ps3, all game fixes are just that, free versions of the game, which also bypasses the licensing portion. you do need the original license in these examples in order to decrypt the content, but you can reencrypt as free. even god games on the 360 utilize this. that's how you can play 360 backups. god games are identical to games you rip. only difference is that they don't require game checks for the disc in the system. it's the same thing as those other two examples. yaris swap on the 360, how to install dlc and xbla/xblig content relies on this one obscure game that was free. it rep;laces the header of the game iirc, which essentially makes the game free. that's basically how all piracy works on these systems.
