In the time it takes me to learn how to do the Nand Mod, How to solder, and open cases to put a usb port there.
I will fuck up a lot of 3dsxl's in the process, so that's a big no-no.
I hope there's some guy or place that does this service and send worldwide.
Or wait for smea and his ssspwn and hope it have's access to restore my nand.

Obviously you shouldn't work on your 3ds directly first. You perform soldering on USB ports, on circuit boards to get practice. It's the skill that you need.

What I do...
More or less idiotproof:

1) Boot into GW
2) Add internet settings in emunand
3) Return to sysnand and delete internet settings in sysnand
4) Change sysnand language to German leave emunand in English (you will have to reinstall blue card hack after changing language)
5) Turn off 3DS
6) Turn on 3DS and boot into GW
7) Go to settings
8) Check GW3DSx.xx label
9) Go straight to update
10) (Keep an eye out that language is in English and not German) and accept update
11) profit...

That's a great newb- ( i might even say noob-) proof procedure.

But might I ask why German?

a) I speak some German
b) German is the closest language to English


If you know French or something, just change the sysnand language to French or whatever.

From memory, I always need to reinstall the blue card hack when I change the language.
But I could be wrong about that.

You messed around too much before updating. Never do ANYTHING before updating. Just load GW, enter settings, check for GW3DSx.xx label and update straight away. That's it. And if it asks you to check any "tick here" boxes other than the firmware update box, check the box, disconnect your internet, let the update download stop, and then turn off your 3DS and start again.

While I don't use a Gateway, doing that language change to tell which settings is which is a clever idea.
