QUOTE(jono@home @ Jul 27 2009, 04:21 PM) I have tried two drives now that fail to work with dual partitions... with cios rev 14 on USBLoader GX
Seagate freeagent go 320gb.. & Iomega Prestige 320gb
again games load with only a single partition... (wbfs)
got to be a bug with GX somewhere..

Try the formatting tool in my sig to achieve a drive with a single Fat32 partition to see if that's the issue.

i use powerquest/norton partition manager... its not the issue...

a single partition will work.. its just a dual partition will not... (wbfs & fat32)

I would try other loaders as well. To eliminate which is the problem. GX or rev 14.

neogamma works fine & so does coverfloader.. so its defo a problem with GX

so fellow GX users, how is Rev 14 treating ya

Works great for me -- if I encounter any issues I'll post them here but so far everything seems to be working as it did before the upgrade and it may even be a little bit faster at loading games. Oh -- and I don't have to power off/reset the wii between games anymore! Yay!

It seems to be a fairly isolated issue as only you and a handful of other users have it.

Could you list every single step you have taken to debug so we know what not to suggest?

Well hopefully the team are working on an update as we've not had a new revision in nearly 12 hours lol, which is a first since I've been using GX!

Which means it could be just a compatibility issue with some types of drives. Or something to do with which USB port the hard drive is plugged into.

Those having problems, who may have been on a revision

using 639... works fine

next one I used was 648.. and came across same problems..

cant find any revisions for anything over 639...

so anything from 640 onwards could be problematic!

EDIT: narrowed it down some more..

rev 647 works fine.. so the problem lies from rev648 onwards...

Dipshit error report:
lecture.gif

I used the homebrew loader part of the USB Loader GX interface and I didn't get an error until I backed out of the hombrew loader,
once entering back to the GX menu from there I got the Dipshit error saying that a pic wasn't divisible by 4 from 1 of the apps in the apps folder, it was a .png from cIOSCORP app. I was just beta testing all functions when I found this.

ntsc-u
3.2u FW
249
rev14
r656

error was reproducible

fix:
made the .png divisible by 4 along with all the other app pics in my app folder and could not reproduce it.

Commented out the code that loads titles.txt, it isn't needed anymore
since there is the xml file with all the names in it.

Please give us the option to choose between the two, I use titles.txt to rename games that are different to the xml. For example, for TP the xml is 'The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess', whereas I prefer 'Zelda: Twilight Princess' which is why I use the titles.txt for my games. I know I could remove the comment from the source but I don't know how to compile, plus auto-updates via the loader is much easier :).

 you could just rename it manually in the loader. click on the name above the spinning disc, when game is selected and edit it as you wish.
or attach the drive to your computer and rename it with WBFS manager.

Ah, thank you! I completely forgot about directly renaming the ISO!

Correct, you'll only get an update when they're uploaded to the server: http://www.techjawa.com/usbloadergx/
Read the 'rev.txt' and you'll see what rev is the latest that's been uploaded.

New revs are not on the server but you can find the newer user compiled revs in my signature.
