Hacking USB Loader GX stops installing any Wii game at about 80-90%

OK so I installed cIOS 249 and 250(with Wankinkoko's cIOS installer) and when I try to backup a game it stops at 80-90%. The music is still playing. I am on System Menu 4.3U. My USB Drive is a 100GB flash drive I got from Micro Center

It's probably the flash drive. They don't like writes on the Wii many times. A real HDD is a much better bet.

What HHD should I get?

Check the compatibility wiki. You want one without extra frills like auto-power down, etc. if you can find one.

If you have an SD card large enough to hold at least one game you can try using CleanRip to back up your games then copy them from the card to your flash drive on your computer. I had to do that because my HDD enclosure also freezes on large writes.

I fixed it! I installed some different cIOS wads and it installed ACCF great!

You can test if it is GX or the flash drive by ripping a 1:1 image with CleanRip and seeing if it also fails consistently.

I swear by MicroCenter Flash drives and own several, of which I have a 32GB USB3 one for Nintendon't and a 128GB USB3 one I carry on me at all times for various reasons.

I recommend formatting them as either FAT32 or NTFS 32KB cluster size depending on if it will be for just Wii Games or for apps and GC games also.

I also modded them with Phison's tool to have them appear as a fixed drive so I can see and use all the partitions on Windows.
