Hello, everybody. You see, I have quite a problem regarding the NDS homebrew app, "Rudolph's Nintendo DS Backup Tool Wi-Fi".

I have done the following:

1. Downloaded NDS Backup Tool Wi-Fi
2. Downloaded SmallFTPd
3. Extracted NDS Backup Tool Wi-Fi
4. Opened SmallFTPd
5. Set port to "8080"
6. Set it to use my own IP
7. Made a user
8. Put "c:\temp" as directory
9. Put "RLW" instead of "RL"
10. Started the FTP server
11. Set the .ini file to the right settings
12. Booted up NDS Backup Tool Wi-Fi
13. Entered authentic NDS game
14. I click on "make new ROM" (B-button)

It just doesn't work. The "downloading bar" shows up, and then there's a message like "dumping doesn't work, try again".

What did I do wrong?! Please, I'm desperate for help here.

Does the flashcart matter? I'm currently using an R4DS, but if it's that, I've bought a Supercard DSTWO...

An original R4?
So you're doing this on a DS/Lite?

And for the IP, you are putting the internal and not external IP, right?

Uh, what? Yeah, I'm doing it on a DS Lite, can I do it better on No$gba or another NDS emulator?

How to you check your IP? I just ran "cmd.exe" and typed in "ipconfig", and I used the "IPv4 Adress".

I ask because many of the tools don't work on a DSi, DSi XL, or 3DS.

And assuming it's the IP that starts with 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x it's the right one.

Yes, they do... But I still can't backup the games...

I'm really desperate here - I have a Nintendo DS Lite, a R4DS flashcart, and I have a working Wi-Fi connection - what could possibly be the problem?

the problem could be that you need to portforward your FTP IP address. other problems could be your system firewall or router firewall (including the SPI/NAT) blocking the app.

the recommended tool for dumping roms is wood dumper. rudolphs tools are outdated.

@Rydian

How do I do that?

@Another World

Is that better than Rudolph's, then? Where can I find a guide for it?
